is there some kinda filter that erases posts that i/u make in threads cuz i really cant beleve somone has no life to just go to almost every thread i post in and delete one or somthing if its a mod i feel bad for the dude thats really sad

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled---------------------

Same thing has been happening to me, it seems pretty weird!

They also lock threads if THEY don't like them. Pathetic.

Posted by: Moose---------------------

It's because
a) "whenfoxforks-ruled" posted a thread that just spammed for his sponsor house sponsor.

b)"ur730im911" posts things that are against forum rules.

c) the only threads they lock are the ones that get out of hand, or are repetitive.

d) you can expect this one to get deleted very shortly.

Posted by: IndyMX---------------------

Any delusions you may have about this being a free and open forum are your own fault.

The rules of this forum are designed to keep this from being a complete mad house like some of the million other webforums.

Here, you will actually meet good people with very good information. And, if you have any brains, will learn quite a bit.

There are some incredibly smart people that frequent this forum and if you act like an adult around them, they tend to be very generous with the experience and knowledge they have.

And yes, sometimes they have days that they should probably be out shoveling snow or cutting grass and will
delete a few posts that aren't really over the line. Get over it.

Posted by: ur730im911---------------------

i think its more of a "i dont like that idea im erasing" it then its agenst the rules or "whos my next culprite to attack erasing there threads"

I assure you, it's not quite as childish as that.

More often than not when a post "disappears" it was just moved to the correct forum and someone is too lazy to look for it. But some posts do get deleted, and for good reason.

Let me see if I can clear this up for everyone. If you do any of the following there will be a good chance that your post will be deleted:

- SPAM. If you SPAM the post is gone PERIOD. If you aren't sure if something will be considered SPAM just ask and someone will help.

- If you write in some gibberish fashion that requires a secret decoder ring to decipher the post won't last long. This isn't an AOL IM session. At least make an attempt to write in complete sentences and use the SpellCheck button at the bottom of the window. If you are too busy, or important to do those simple things, then you are clearly too busy to be spending time here. Turn off the computer and go read a book. We have members from all over the world who only speak English as a second or even third language who make the effort to communicate properly and do an amazing job. Yet we still have lazy slack-asses who were educated in the US but can't be bothered to put together a coherent thought and communicate it properly. If that rings a familiar bell for someone, then he'll soon find his post count DECREASING.

- If you post something that is totally inaccurate or just plain stupid don't be surprised if it gets deleted. This is a MODERATED site, which means people make the effort to read every post and weed out the garbage.

If something you posted disappears consider these possible reasons, and maybe take a little extra time before you hit the Submit Reply button next time.

One last point...
This isn't a democracy. Everyone has choices though, one of them being making a decision to find a forum more to their liking. The door is always open.

Thank You Gentleman!!!
That's Why I Love This Site.

Nice attitude!
This forum has been the most helpful that I've come across. It's the moderator attitude that brings the quality of the forum down, but I have to take the bitter with the sweet. p.s., Don't let that door hit you in the A$$!!

Dude, it's okie's bat and ball.. He pays the bills around here, he gets to dictate how the game gets played.

I for one like the way he does things. It makes for a much better site.

Something wrong with it? It seems really simple to me. There are many forums out there to chose from. No point in sticking with one that you don't like. That's not attitude, it's common sense.

Um... yeah I posted a thread about a week ago. 19 reasons why dirtbiking is better than sex. I actaully thought it was kinda funny. I don't know if it got deleted or if it just didn't post right, but I don't think that it was the latter. It wasn't all that bad, maybe PG-13. Anyway, if it was deleted, I could maybe try to understand why , but an email would have been nice with an explaination if it was. This thread wouldn't really be here if deletions were explained. If the "poopie heads" that "delete for fun" have time to delete the thread then they should have time to send an e-mail to prevent further posting mishaps. I've been on this site for while, and have never had a post deleted. If it was a common thing, it would be different... But right now I'd just like to know where it went....

Posted by: Moose---------------------

That thread you made was completely in appropriate. This is a kid friendly site. There are some 11/12 year olds that lurk this forum. Maybe even younger than that. Would you like your kid to be reading about why dirtbiking is better than sex? Didn't think so.

I am the one you are looking for. I deleted a few of your posts for the exact reasons Rich listed. The main one's are spelling, and, typing a post that looks more like you are trying to text message us. There are rules and guidelines that everyone is required to use.

I had another thread trying to clarify this spam no-spam deal. Someone asks who to send suspension to I tell them and it gets logged as spam, I'm confused!!! I'm not paid by sponsorhouse, I pay THEM! I think its a good deal they offer, unless you can afford to pay retail prices!!!! And the tank foam deal is one of the best things I've seen come along in a long time, and lastly, the last thread I posted to address this was erased and the starter thread was locked out !!!!! NICE!

I deleted ur730im911's last one because he was equating erecting a christmas tree to pleasing someone of the female persuasion with a part of his anatomy. And it was in some sort of interweb code. And it was dumb.

I can barely imagine some of the stuff you mods get! Are you guilty of spamming for Honda "XRpred" am I "fox forks"??? ps I enjoy your location.

Posted by: FruDaddy---------------------

Simply put, if your thread gets deleted, and you ask, the mod that deleted it will stand up, come forth, and say why. Which has been done here, twice. Acccept that this is a moderated forum and enjoy it, or go over to the TransworldMX forum where all of children use their grown up words to disrespect skateboarders.
For those that believe that posts get deleted just because to mods don't agree with the poster, you should take note of the many debates that have gone on in here, then note the fact that there are usually several mods involved, and they all have different opinions. They are just people too, but they are the people that make it possible for me to have my kids look over my shoulder while I read the posts here.

Dang, ya learn sumtin new here every day. I always thought it meant Extra Roomy.

It's all about respect kiddies. If you want people to read and answer your posts with respect then, you have to show a little respect for those trying to figure out your posts.

If you post a thread asking for mechanical help and use run-on sentence structure and text message instead of proper English. Chances are, your post won't get answered or it will be deleted. The people here that answer those types of questions don't get paid to do so. They they do it on their own time and because they want to help DRN be the best it can be. I for one won't even bother to read these types of posts much less try to answer them. If you post something like that, don't get upset at us for not showing you the respect you think you deserve.

What type of board would you rather have. One where you have knowledgeable adults giving accurate, trustworthy information or a bunch of kids cussing each other out in every thread. There are many industry people on this site that have a tremendous amount of knowledge to offer. The way that this site is moderated is one of the reasons many of them stay here.

Like the bossman said, the choice is yours. You can stay and respect the rules and members or go to one of the many sites out in cyberspace that speaks your language.

Just my $ .02

Oh, and pred. I still respect ya man.

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled---------------------

Whats all this about cuss'in and kids????? Yeah, my son is on here,"beatthebrakens" he's not been cuss'in, his missuse of the spell checker is a little confusing, I've seen worse by older people than him! Just where is the line on spam? I for one do not want to be the one distributing SPAM! Rich, I enjoy your ability at retrieving factual imformation, but in the future its my sons sponsor house deal, not mine, I try and help sometimes.

FOREVER ! and the others ! Thanks for answering

Posted by: pyrofreak---------------------

Lol, maybe one of you "poopie heads" could stop mowing your lawn and cutting grass long enough to delete this one. I think the point is well-established, and you should sticky the reasons for deletion, if they are not already. Some examples would be helpful too. IM talk to some seems normal and some people say "lol" in real life.... But anyway, it's just turning into a picking match. No more jokes I guess, but I can live with that. Guess the prediction was right, 4.5 pages, lol??? Oh well, I apologize if someone's kid read my post, I really didn't think anyone younger than maybe 13 was on this site. Hope I didn't corrupt anyone, there's enough kids with problems in this world. I can do free counseling to make up for it, lol.

It's still SPAM regardless of the way you cook it.

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled---------------------

Okay if I send someone to Wilke, that isn't spam. I send someone to check out a product that youv'e touched on previously and its spam?????( gas tank foam) Or is there something about sponsorhouse that I am ignorant of?

Posted by: Moose---------------------

(Sidenote: Somethings wrong with his account. His sig line appears more than once per thread, and I can't PM him.)

Posted by: trial_07---------------------

It's called the Evil Ban!

If you like DRN, take the time to edit your posts. Generally if you show respect, you will receive respect If you doubt the content of your post is appropriate, it is then most likely inappropriate.

If you feel you've been wronged again, hold it inside! Taking it on the grandstanding is a bad idea: you'll just get buried deeper, deeper, and deeper...Trust me

Enjoy!

Oh, I must of read it wrong. I've always thought it was once per thread. I don't care, I was merely pointing out (what I thought to be a fault) in the forums. But I was wrong.

It's not a crime to be wrong is it.

Posted by: IndyMX---------------------

It might be...

Posted by: Mully---------------------

For crying out loud. What !!!???!! What do you want us to say. "Oh we are wrong......Sorry". Well you aren't getting that from me. I deleted several post by the text message guy because you couldn't understand it. SOmeone else deleted what they thought to be spam. Someone else deleted what they thought to be inappropriate for our younger kids. We have so much attempted spam that hormel wants to get a buy in on it. WHAT???!!!!! What do you want me to say ???? We don't get paid for this, we do it because we love the sport. We do it so you don't have all the white noise. We do it so this site will be smart, to point, and without the childish behavior of some of the other sites. If I have offended anyone......tough, live with it or go somewhere else.

The fact that you do not know whether or not the sticky exists is evidence that making it a sticky would be a waste of time.

Yeah, and I avoid them at all costs. LOL means laughing out loud, if you are indeed laughing out loud, you need not tell the guy next to you that you are doing so. To verbally proclaim to another human being that you are laughing indicates to me that you have some mild mental issues that need to be dealt with.

Thank you for someone finally clarifying this. May I ask how many mods are there? On a average , how many posts get edited a day?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

There are 28 mods.
Can't give you an average of posts deleted, it's not like we meet every night and add them up. "Many" will have to do.

Posted by: Mully---------------------

Ok, that seems to be enough. Who had 6.1 pages???????

It really depends. Depends on what? It seems to depend on if school is in our out on a break. It also depends on if some twit trips in the door or if there is a pack of twits. It seems one alone doesn't generate a lot of static but get a few of them together and it makes about as much sense as Jackie Chan in a dentist chair. If it will make any of the deleted parties feel beeter just blame me. I may or may not have edited, moved, or delete your post but I can assure you I also really do care what you think of me either. Feel free to start a thread in the Flame Forum ripping me, I'm sure you might get a few to join in and I know I'd be there because it's been a long time since we had a good rip the mod flame.

Oh, and everybody better quit getting Mully lathered up or I might have to get angry.
