Well my friend right now is riding a crf100, And hes outgrowin it.
1) your physical size (both height and weight are important)5'2,105ibs.
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? 7/10.
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????-probably trails and a bit of track.
4) Do you have any riding experience?yes his whole life.
5) Do you think you will race ? Probably not.
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? His dad is a mecanic
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?umm... probably a four stroke.
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?Honda, yamaha, kawi, suzuki
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike?2000-4500
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion-Well he does do some jumping and some track riding.

Thanks.

He's not big enough for a 250f, so a 125 will make him happy. Here in California, the 06 models are going for $3699 for brand new 125's, but get the yamaha.

if he's big enough for a 125, he's big enough for a 250F

There are also the plethora of playbikes these days -- TTR230, CRF230

Let him take a spin on your 150R

Alright, Ill tell him. Im not sure if the 230 will be enough power for him, but if he likes my bike then maybe thats the one for him.

YZ125s are the biggest stock dirt bikes you can buy , this is not the 125 he should go after, a smaller 125 would fit him much better, but he's on the very small side for a 125, id let him ride your 150R like Pred said for a little bit, it should fit him pretty well. if he doesnt like it, he should look into a 85 or a KX100.

any 230 will not have the power he's looking for, theyre heavy( 260lbs. wet ) and slow.

Ya, He's had a kx65 before, he sold it pretty quick. He said he didn't like the powerband. I let him have a ride on yesterday before my brother in-law drove it off a cliff, but he said he liked it, but it was to loud.

i sat on a 150r today and i can't wait till i have 4 grand! =[

Your friend doesn't have a computer? Why doesn't he make his own?
KX100
KX125

Posted by: jefpel---------------------

The crf150 would be a good choice also the yz125

Posted by: 150rguy---------------------

He doesnt have internet. WHats the powerband like on the kx100, or the ktm 105 sx

Posted by: KDX607---------------------

peak power is a little better than yours, but they hit harder due to less torque and less low end.

Posted by: 150rguy---------------------

0h, well I'll tell him.

the YZ125 is about 5 in. bigger on the seat stock, making it the biggest dirt bike you can buy , in other words, not the bike for him.

Posted by: 76GMC1500---------------------

For a 105lber, any of the 100 cc 2-strokes would be the best choice. A 125 is way to big, especially for someone who is only 5'2".

Alright him and his dad went to spokane or somewhere and looked at the 105sx, It's a pretty good size but they didnt get it yet but they might soon.
