Money for riding?

About 7 or 8 years ago, when I was in high school, my career counselor, when talking about what to do with the rest of my life, said that I should think about what I would do with my time if I did not have to work any more. So, I am asking if there is anyone out there who gets paid for riding their dirt bikes, and if so, where can I send my resume?

They call them Pro's..

Considering you are 25, I think that ship sailed...

As it did for me quite a long time ago.

I know there are tour companies in places like baja that get paid to ride, although they have the responsibility of making sure things go well for all the customers and the bikes they're riding, logistics, food, etc... Might take some of the fun out of riding if it becomes your job, but I can think of far less pleasant ways to make a living.

you would have to start young. take me, im 14 y/o, but i cant be a pro at 14. it takes a lot of practice. my life is built on this: practice doesnt make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect . being homeschooled certainly helps me ride more often, Ryan Villopoto is homeschooled!

A class riders sometimes get cash prizes if they finish well enough.

If you are fast and people know it, you could try your hand at giving lessons. I know of a couple of A riders in Georgia that do it.

You might be able to get a job at one of the magazines testing bikes and gear, but you would need to be able to provide good feedback on the various products. Good writing skills would be a necessity.

The reality check comes now, if you can't finish in the top 10 of the A class at Lorettas, you probably won't be able to make a living just by riding your dirt bike.

Figures, well i guess i should finish college, get a good job, and just ride on the off time, like the plain has been my entire life.
