I have a 1981 xr 200R it has some power but not enough to keep up to my family when we go riding. My dad says no 2strokers unless kdx wr etc the xr 250 is pretty big but i can handle that its the weight that screws me over.

any sugestion of what bike to get next?

KDX is what your looking for.

i have to buy my bike though and they are pretty expensive

Where in Canada do you live? You can find some used trail bikes around here for decent prices.

i live in maple ridge just outside of vancouver

Why does your dad say no 2strokes?

Posted by: c-arnott---------------------

mix gas break lots and no good for what i ride tight trails and i would have to be on the clutch to much/ loud

Posted by: 150rguy---------------------

Oh. Theyre pretty good for trails. The mixing gas is a hassle, theyre not as loud as 4t racing bikes either.

Mixing gas isn't hard at all, fill up the container, pour the rigth amount of oil in, shake/mix, and BAM done, wow that was hard.

Also the KDX is made for the trailed, designed to have lower gears and have more bottom end for the trails. So it should be perfect for you.

Oh, and 2-strokes are quieter than most 4-Strokes.
