1) your physical size: i am 5'1'' and weight 125lbs
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? I just started but i am very competitive.

3) what do you plan to ride- tracks and trails
4) Do you have any riding experience? three wekend trips
5) Do you think you will race ? probably not
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? no

7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? no prefenance open to comments

8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? the carry everything but i will travel for a good deal

9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike? doesn't matter
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion. all the people i will be ridding with race and want me and my sis on the track jumping next time we go.

Well, at your weight and height i would say go with a 85 of some sort. But, if you dont mind taking it to the dealer to get it fixed then a new CRF150R from honda would do the trick. If you want a tammer (not so race like) the Honda CRF150F, or an older XR100 would also be good bikes. Be more spacific on what you have ridden or what you are currently ridding or if you have never ridden befor and how much is too much.

85cc smoker

i would also say 85 two stroke

if you plan on doing any kind of jumping or riding remotely hard, stay away from the trail bikes such as the CRF150F, 125 4T's, and CRF/XR100's, they cannot jump worth a darn. i agree with Xtreme and 4thGear, get a 85, preferably KX or YZ. i notice that almost all the people who are pretty good are usually on KX or YZ85's. the KX will have much more low-end/torque than the YZ, the the YZ will have more on top. the Yamaha is more of a race bike, and the Kawasaki is a bit smaller. first off, ride a few 85's, or at least sit on a few, and tell us what you think .

You could always try the KX100 since it is a little bigger. And you will probably grow. And if you get a smaller bike you will probebley out grow it faster.

And i think the 100 will fit you well. It is 1inch taller than the KX85. But with 1 inch and 15 more cc you will probably be happier on the 100. And you won't outgrow it as fast as an 85.

And its only $3,399 NEW. And a KX85 is $2,999 NEW.

So, TO ME i would go with the KX100. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I believe you meant one inch taller than the kx85, Moparman?

Posted by: 4thGearAndPinned---------------------

The ideal bike in this situation is the kx100, or ktm sx105. Any 85 will do fine too.

Yes i did!

Thanks for finding that error. I guess im used to talking about 125.

Fixed

i also agree. an 85 would do him some good, but it just depends on what kind of powerband he wants. if he wants a slightly( if any) faster and bigger bike, id say go for it. a KX100's powerband is a little more tame than that of a KX85, which likes to hit hard at times to get through those turns. at 5'1'' and 125lbs., a KX100 would last you longer as well .

i will not be growing anymore.

i rode a crf-100f too and it selt small to me. it also didnt have enough power and shocks for hills. i sat on a kx 100 too but it was a second. i was nervous because i never rode a 2 stroke before and i was a little scared of the way the power hits. but i kinda want to try it. maybe i should try something smaller for the first time

a KX100 will last you longer than a 85, and its powerband isnt as hard-hitting as an 85, first off, ride an 85 and tell us what you think. also ride a KX100 if you get the chance.
