Cooperland Step-up ...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Many have seen it, a few have cleared it .... check the image, throw in a seriously combed - out face pinned in 4th ...

What makes that jump so evil is the fact that there is a turn just 75' to 100' prior to the jump. You have to hit that turn with some good speed to carry over to the jump.

The face looks so much steeper when you approach it.

what's this "jump" thing you speak of? That's a hill to climb . . .

sillies

Posted by: 150rguy---------------------

How often do they groom the take off?

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

Another chance to dust off an old favorite of mine-
DO NOT TRY TO LAND IT THIS WAY

Yep he saved it but when the race was over I think he needed new shorts

As Okie says he got bumped into A class for this season should be fun, exciting and interesting

ive always been asking myself the same question, but i admit i had my doubts .

Posted by: BSWIFT---------------------

When was that bic taken, Okie? I looks circa 2005. 2001 it was a fun jump but by 2005 it was insane!

Posted by: wardy---------------------

i know for sure it was ramped and easier to jump in 04 DW then in 05 DW. had my hardest non crash in a long time on that puppy in 05. Did it one more time, then that was it for that week!

Brian.. that's a pic from this month ....

Two singles up a hill for sure.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I rode the WR250 over it once...my wheels never left the ground though!

I think I skipped it altogether when I had the XR - that's the one you can go around if you're too wimpy to go up it, right?

Posted by: wardy---------------------

really bob, that looks bigger then before and the maybe longer? not a jump I would want to hit hard with those ruts. guess brownie didn't leave instructions on packing jump faces with the dozer before he left? ?? :P

My nemesis........Damn the step up!

Posted by: YamaB---------------------

Doesn't look so bad in that pic... It looks like a MOUNTAIN when you are approaching it though... I pretty much treated it as a hill climb...

Posted by: mx547---------------------

step-ups are my favorite. that being said, i never tried that one. i was always too scared.

Posted by: DougRoost---------------------

I agree with everyone here, especially about treating it more like a hill climb! That thing really is a beast. The best picture I've seen of it was taken coming out of the turn before it, looking pretty much straight at the face but with just enough perspective to show it. Hopefully we'll get a chance/excuse to have a little reunion there again this year

Posted by: mx547---------------------

the step-up may be history. the track is supposed to be reversed by the next race.

I'd call that the gnarliest and most technical step down ever!!!! I didn't mind bashing myself into the top of that thing while trying to haul myself over but backwards is downright frightening.
