'04 cRF 450, just started backfiring today on hard acceleration out of a turn. Two quick pops and I closed the throttle quickly. It seemed to happen just before the rev limiter would have taken over.
A few rides prior to this the only thing I did was to relieve a bit of valve tightness after they came back from the shop for some K.W. stainless. They were down to .09. But it ran fine after this and started acting up today.
Any clues...??

You might want to be a bit more specific about what is happening. Your post is far to vague for me to offer any useful suggestions.
