What's the best desert tire?

I hear Dunlop mostly but have read alot about Maxxis lately and they are a site sponser and all.
Any help or personal experiences would be appreciated.

I think in AZ Maxxis is probably the most widely used tire. Almost everyone I ride with runs the IT or Desert IT. They work great in rocks and last a long time. My IT did well on the KDX, and now it has a fresh Desert IT (compound difference). First ride was at Hot Wells "dunes", I was very surprised at how well it hooked up in the sand. A few rocky rides later (MM11) and it still looks great, I definitly recommend em!
Another favorite (or fad?) that is catching on is trials tires. Seems every time I hit the trails I run into someone else running a trials tire in the rear, occasionally front and rear. I'd like to give em a try someday.

Trials tire seem to hook in all conditions from what I can tell
by riding with a lot of guys that use them.
I am told that you can't get them in 19" , so that counts me out.

I'm runnin Maxxis desert IT's front & rear on a xr650r.
They seem to be holding up very well so far.
And they seem to hook up well in the northern NM sand washes! 
Not real expensive either.

My favorite combination is Maxxis SI in front and desert IT in rear. Awesome traction in just about every condition and wear really nicely too.
