I recently had a young kid pull out in front of me on my Ninja and I T-boned him, wrecking the Ninja (weee go kart motor!). I am bruised up, but by the grace of God, no broken bones. I am know going to go back to dirt after a 13 year street riding stint (wife + kids + mortgage + hitting cars on street= go back to dirtbikes).
I plan on mostly open country canal bank riding, mountin trails, and 3-4 times a yaer at Pismo beach in the dunes. Here are my stats:
1) your physical size : 165, 5'10
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? Medium
3) what do you plan to ride- see above
4) Do you have any riding experience? since i was 5, dirt/street
5) Do you think you will race. Nope
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? mild stuff only...
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? California green sticker only.
I was looking at the DRZ 400e ($5,000), but is this bike to old tech. and will it jump good???? Also the WR250 ($6,3000), but would it handle Pismo sand??? the 450's are nice, but lots of money and does a guy my size need a bike that big??

I would think a slightly used KTM400EXC would do nicely.
