the most reliable?

Hi all, I am changing from my first bike (01 KX 125) to an enduro model four stroke. I can get good deals on both a 07 WR250 or a 07 CRF250X. I reckon both bikes are pretty similar so I am interested to hear peoples thoughts on a few points

1) reliability
2) aftermarket parts

any info greatly appreciated!

I voted Honda but far as I know they are both very good bikes. For me parts are alot easier to get for a Honda, and not local either. There are several honda dealers that sell oem parts at discounted prices with quick shipping on-line.

From the reading I have done and people I have talked to both of the bikes are very, very good bikes with a very good track records on reliability as long as you do the proper maintenance.

However, I prefer the Yamaha 4-stroke line b/c of the 5 valve design and b/c I own a YZ250F (it is my 3rd YZ250F... I've had a 2001, 2003 and now a 2005) :D

I voted Honda cause I own 1. Like the others have said, they are both great bikes. The are however based on high-performance mx bikes so the maintenance is still very important. They WILL NOT take the neglect an xr style bike will.

Red is a much cooler color .

The one that is maintained properly will be the most reliable. Either of these bikes will be rolling heaps in short order without proper maintenance.

Neither, a good KTM 2-stroke is the most reliable. But if you must pick from those 2 see Rich's response.

I understand your points with regards to the bikes both being worthless if not maintained properly. The question I am asking relates to "defects" for want of a better word. More specifically, weak heads, persistent bearing problems, anything else that may be weaker on one bike over the other.

Thanks again!

Both bikes are very good. Honda and yamaha are great about build quality. Pick a color, you won't be disappointed.

get a ktm 2 stroke for the woods, you will regret buying a 4 stroke regardless of the manufacturer.
