How long does VP Race fuel stay fresh?

My friend just gave me a bunch of VP Race fuel, the V2 version for 2 strokes. I got 5 gallons in the sealed VP can and another 3 gallons in a plastic VP quick-fill jug. He said he has had it for 6-7 months. I've never used it before and would like to run it through my YZ80. So would it be safe or is the stuff stale?

The 5 gallons in the steel sealed container should be good but I would question the 3 gallons in a plastic container.

Thanks for the info. Another race fuel company said the sealed container should be good for many years as long as it stays sealed in metal. The 3 gallons is probably bad because of light passing through the plastic jug.
