Honda and Sierra Club ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've been hearing a rumor that honda has been giving money to the Sierra Club. Is this true? If it is I would be very disappointed with honda. The Sierra Club is the worst thing for our sport. If this is true I will never purchase one of honda's fine and reliable products ever again.

Keep your friends close and your enemy's even closer.

Sierra Club : I ask you for justice.

Honda Japan: That is not justice your desert is still alive.

Sierra Club : They can suffer then. As she suffers. How much shall I pay you?

Honda Japan:Sierra Club What have I ever done to make you to treat me so disrespectfully. If you had come to me in friendship then this scum that ruined your your stupid bush would be suffering this very day. And if by chance an honest man like yourself should make enemies then they would become my enemies. And then, they would fear you.

Sierra Club : Be my friend... Hondasan.

Honda Japan: GOOD! Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me.

Sierra Club : Grazie, Hondasan.

Honda Japan:Give this to, uh, Honda North America. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what these greenfreaks think.

I'm saying you worry too much.

Do you honestly think you'll ever know where every corporate dollar goes in this world?

I can't belive it. You guys have no clue as to what the hell is going on. The Sierra Club is the biggest threat to ALL motorsports. They told us up here they want to slightly limited our riding for other recreations....they lied. They tried to close 980,000 acres of our riding out of 1,000,000 in northwest Colorado. That leaves us with not even enough land to fit everyone that rides up here. It is a good thing the people of Colorado don't sell out. We stood our ground and fought for our right to ride. We where pissed, the Sierra Club promised us plenty of land but then immideatly turned agaisnt there word. We where so pissed that our small number overruled the millions from the Sierra Club. It wasn't long before Forest Rangers and BLM officers were equiped with
m-16's to keep themselves from getting shot. The Nazis at the Sierra Club will lie in your face to get money, and more importantly power. It's inconcivable that one of our own could so willingly turn against their own sport so that maybe they can cut a share in the profits. When the time comes, the Greenies will have no mercy on Honda. They will not give up trying to shut us down because they are partners with us. It has happened over and over again and yet still the majority of us don't care? Now don't get me wrong, I love Honda. Ever since my family owned anything we have hade Honda products. Honda has the most reliable engines I know of. However, if they chose to side with the Sierra Club, then it no longer matters how good the products are. Honda just lost thousands of customers, and hundereds of thousands of dollars.

I've often found that boycotts do nothing but make things inconvenient for the boycotter.

Yeah, it MUST be us.

If you think you'll be able to boycott every company that gives money to special interest groups you'd better shut off your lights (power companies love to play GREEN GAMES), and never buy anything until you do a whole lot of research.

My guess is once you start really diggin you'll never be able to buy anything ever again.

Rich is absolutely correct.

I went through an eco phase where I was mad at everyone and everything for what they did and what they failed to do when it came to environmental brainwash.

I even had Davey Coombs light me up on these forums.

I learned a lot. What I learned most is that you have to write letters, join local organizations and national ones like the Blue Ribbon Coalition, the NOHVCC and even the AMA (as much as I hate the AMA).

You will never stop Honda from doing business and they will always do business with the Sierra Club... just as Camelback still does even though we did get them to change some of their advertising practices with the Sierra Club.

I applaud your enthusiasm but hope you direct it appropriately and help the fight while understanding the reality of everything. Otherwise a heart attack could be in the near future from the anxiety and stress of hitting so many brick walls.

I guess you guys are right. I just, for some reason, have a vendetta against the Sierra Club. I think that "Green" is good, but I also think that we should not lose the ground we have already gained over trying to be enviromentally freindly. Freedom is a beautiful thing offered by our great country, alot of people tend to forget that. I believe in equallity, respect, and acceptance of all people. I am ebarrased for my anti-honda rant, I am usually not anti-anything, I just hate to see our sport be outlawed and outnumbered because it means so much to so many.

I think we all share that view. All the more reason to follow Ivan's advice and get involved in a way that will make a noticeable difference.

I love you all

Well, Honda builds good bikes, but since they support the sc they will not have a dime of mine in there pockets.
The "who cares if they support the sc" attitude makes me sick, why not buy a yami, a company that support the BRC instead? then youll have a bike and know that the money went towards a good cause?
The bad thing about Honda doing it vs. your electric company, is that Honda produces power sport equipment, you would think that they would donate to the brc or something like that but instead there giving to the sc. And it makes sense, seeing as how they are the first to complelty drop there 2stroke line, their in bed with the greenies.
