crf250r magnum billet clutch basket

Just bought one of these and for some reason the gear wont slide in... the teeth all line up and my gear is in good condition. Could this be a manufacturing error? The basket is for a cr125 and crf250 which i know is correct. anyone else heard of this? should I send it back and try again with another magnum or a different basket?

I bought a vortex basket and it was the same way. Mine came with instructions to freeze the inner gear and heat the basket,that helped some but I still had to press it in. I have not had any problems so far.

Thanks for the reply....whats the best way to heat up the basket and press in the gear?

I would say just throw the basket in the oven on 350 for a little bit...

Boiling water works well if you are quick.
