found 2 250's 2 stroke and 4 stroke. pros and cons?

one is a 2001 yz250 4 stroke. other is a 1997 yz 125 whats the pros and cons of these 2? deciding on which to get the 250 is $1000 more which i really don't want to spend unless it will be a big difference.
