Dialing in 06 YZ250

I've been having trouble getting my 06 YZ250's suspension dialed in for me. I am 5'8 160 lbs and ride mainly motocross. I just feel that the suspension is harsh on the little stuff. I looked at some video of a few races and it looks like i'm almost bottoming on the big stuff so why is it so stiff in the first half of the stroke? Anybody have any experience with the 06 YZ250?

Depending on your weight in gear your springs may be a bit on the stiff side.
What are your clicker settings? I've read quite often where backing things out too much (for plushness) will make the bike ride lower in the travel, making it feel stiffer. Sometimes you need to add some compression damping so the suspension can work the way it was intended, and it will actually feel softer.
