2000 kx80 shock shaft. Still good?

Is this shock shaft still serviceable?
When I took the nut off the top, the threads ripped apart I had to cut some off to disassemble it. Could it be welded up and rethreaded?

Here you can see some of the shaft damage maybe this can be repaired by rechroming.
A new shaft assembly is about $361, I really don't wanna pay that.
grind the bad off the end- assemble it with old seals- check to see where the bad part of the shaft moves-(past the seal) or where- because it looks bad enough that it would leak oil where you buggered the chrome shaft-

the nut part is (peened over) and should have been ground off first- if ytou can use it just clean up where the threads are so a nut will go on ,and off easy-
use a new nut!!!- check the threads ,and get the right one-

no re chrome will not fix a dent-
but jbweld might work-if you apply it right ,and let it harden- and sand it smooth enough

I ground the threads. Is there enough sticking out still? What should I use to secure the nut, or is proper torque adequate?

The seal covers most of the shaft damage accept for this one dent. I filed down the protruding metal around all the dents and it seems ok. I'm going to jb weld them tonight.

JB Weld will never work , but a rechrome will.
I can get you a new shaft for around $160.00
