Pre Purchase Vehicle Inspections

I have a buddy who is shopping all over the USA right now for a used 05-07 F350 Diesel but he is very concerned with spending 30-40K on a truck that he can't inspect.
I seem to recall in the past seeing a service offered on E-Bay where the company had guys all over the US that would go out and do a detailed inspection including multiple photos for a couple of hundred dollars. Of course now that I'm looking I haven't been able to find any such service. Anyone have any leads on this type of service?

Doug I know they recommended having it done but do not remember them having any one they used. I know they had a company they recommended for holding the Money in escrow until everything was received and in proper condition

I would think if you can't find an actual service, you could hire a personal property appraiser.
