Is It Good To Invest In Protection For Your Bike?

I Have A Honda CRF250R 2006, with only 25 hours of ride time. It is in excellent condition; is there stuff that i should buy for it so when I am on trails nothing seirous is damaged. I do have a skid plate but that is all, not sure what else would be good.

I usually start right out and get all the covers I can find. I go with a skid plate, side frame guards, and some good graphics to start. Get some radiator braces and guards as well, things that will keep your bike in great shape from minor wear and tear. Also, see if you can get some clear adhesive for the front and side number plates. Good luck!

Flatlander rad guard is great front protection and side. This is a must if you are going to tip over. Check out Thupmertalk.com write Childers and let him know that Frank sent you. I purchased it cheaper from them, then going to FlatLander and getting the racer discount. Also ThumperTalk has an area there you can review comments. Also look at CRFsonly.com same thing - read the review area.

Maybe some bark busters or some kind of hand guards to protect your hands and your levers.

And a metal shark fin to protect your rear brake disc. Do invest in a set of radiator guards. Mine are just a bit twisted and are making me regret not buying a set earlier.

I agree radiator guards and skid plate are most important. Hand guards can be put on, but thats user preference.

For some cheap insurance, take pipe thread tape and put it under the area where your controls clamp to the bars. So put a wrap or two if it under your clutch perch and brake.

This will allow for the levers to slip instead of breaking when you crash. Can be the difference between a long ride home and a 5 second tap tap on the bars to align the shifter again.

But in general, expect it to get roughed up a bit. Some dings, rips and scratches are pretty normal.

#1 radiator guards, #2 skid plate, #3 brake snake (a rear brake lever is close to $100?)

i would go with a pipe guard. not the flimsy aluminum ones or the carbon fiber ones that dont protect against dings. you can browse online for pipe cages and such.
