Hello Everyone,

Should I get insurance for a 125cc - 200cc dirtbike that is used if I am just going to be driving it off-road?

Thanks.

Probably. You never know what people will try to sue you for these days.

I would advise it for theft purposes also. You never know what can happen and you don't want to be having to buy a new bike do you?

I have it on all 3 of mine to protect them against theft and major damage. The policies for motorcylces in Texas are just like auto policies. Mine are protected from theft and any kind of damage that might occur from travel or storage. They are even covered against serious damage during riding (as long is it is not racing). Of course there are deductables. It was about $300/ yr with Progressive for my 05 CRF250R and my wife's CRF150F when they were brand new. I now have Geico because Progressive wanted soooooo much more to cover my DRZ400SM because it is a street bike. The DRZ is about $600/yr (2007 model) and the two dirtbikes are about 250/
