I have found another bike on craigslist with yet another problem.
It's an '89 Kawasaki kdx 200.

It, "Runs But Only Idels Revs Up But Bougs And Stalls."
Could this be a matter of just adjusting some jets or something of that nature? Or is it more serious?
Other than that it looks like it's in great shape. I attached a pic, i think.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!!

I have the same bike and I'm a newbie. I bought mine on craigslist too. The engine seems to run strong but the bike was missing bolts, needed tires, etc. It sounds like a jet could be clogged. I found a bunch of jets on ebay (there new). I may try changing those. Mine likes to drop the idle lower so I have to keep adjusting the screw. I think it loosens its way out.

I'll watch this post because i'm trying to learn everything i can to make this the best bike ever! I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE mine. It rocks!

here's the before pic when i bought it. Since then I've changed the linkage bearings, front forks seals, new front springs, tires, etc. I'm trying to work on the silencer and cleaning out the pipe too.

It's worth taking a look at. Could be something as simple as a fouled plug.

Talking to the owner might clear alot of things up. Have they had the bike a long time? Did it used to run well for them? Have they checked all the easy things and still been uable to make it run, or do they have no idea what they are doing? Is it difficult to start?

Bring a plug wrench and new spark plug with you. I think it is an NGK BR8ES.

Could be very minor (float level, clogged jet, bad plug etc...) or more serious (electrical problem, stator needs rewinding, stuck/stripped powervalve, etc...). If the owner can't figure out what is wrong, the price should assume the worst.
