So i have a pretty nice camera that was given to me for Christmas.

Will this camera take pictures as nice as some of the ones i see in threads on this site?

You can take good pictures with a camera like that. I was amazed at some pics that I've gotten with our relatively inexpensive cameras. All it takes is finding something worth photographing.
Of course, you will find the limitations of that camera fast if you get good at what you are doing.

Thanks.
It takes very detailed photos and can catch good shots, but it's touch and go with the settings, flash, and what I'm shooting.

Probably will work fine for doing general stuff, but I wouldn't bother with it at the track or anything with low lighting. You probably won't like the results.

I looked quickly at the specs but didn't see if you can have full manual control over the settings. Overall it's got plenty of features that should make it a quite capable point & shoot. Your biggest issue for shooting moto will be if the auto focus is fast enough which it likely will not be. In this case you'll need to learn how to prefocus in preparation for the shot.
