im trying to find some info for a friend, he just rebuilt his motor on his 05 yz450f and we cant find any info on were the adjustments are supposed to be at, the cam adjustments that is... any online help would be nice.

i guess i should tell you what the bike is doing on the current setting. it back fires alot.. so im guessing i have to adjust it more toward exhaust???

There is no "adjusting" these cams. You have to set the timing to the factory setting using the factory timing marks. With the stick cams it's either set right or not.

You need a service manual to do this right, it's unwise to try it for the first time with out one.

You can download an electronic copy from Yamaha here : http://www.yamaha-motor.co.uk/commu...ice/manuals.jsp

It's easy to be one tooth off when you install the cams! Kawasaki serv. manual tells you how many links should be between each timing mark. this really helps get it right the first time. double check your crank timing mark and cam timing marks!
