need boot help as well!

Hey everyone. I've been brainstorming trying to decide on a new boot. I like the idea of the hinged ankle that gaerne and sidi are putting out. I'm really sick of pulling up my whole leg...or rocking my foot back to upshift.
I notice that the front overlap of the boot is OVER the hinged structure on the gaerne (seems like it would bunch up and make the hinge pointless) and behind it on the sidi. I really don't wanna spend the $500 for the sidi's...but MAN the thought of them is nice! Can any Gaerne and Sidi wearers weigh in on this without bias? I hope I'm making sense.haha I like to shift with my ankle. have at it!

my sg-10 are the best boot I have ever owned...do a search, there is alot of info on boots here.
