92' Suzuki DR350 PLEASE HELP??????

THIS SITE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was wondering if someone can help me out.......I have a 92' Dr350 and am having problems starting it...It is getting fuel and spark, has good compression...When I go to start it , it wants to start but just pops like it wants to start but dont....now if I take the air filter hose going to back of carb off she will fire right up but I cant run it that way cause it will get dirt in the carb.....I just put a new air filter on it but just wont start..Is there a certain sequence on starting these bikes.....Can some1 please help or have any suggestions...Thanks 4 ur time...
