(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi,

I have a 2006 KTM 300XC and want to pull the fork caps off. What tool is needed to do that and where's the best place to get it?

Thanks,

Rich

If it has 4 holes in the top, you will need the motion pro tool or similar. If it doesnt it should be 24mm or 25 mm socket/wrench. Dont forget to loosen the pinch bolts on the triple clamps if you are doing this on the bike.

If you don't have the tool you can get 4 screws that fit in the 4 holes in the cap. Put one down in each hole, they don't screw in they just drop in. Then use a screwdriver to turn the cap off a quater turn at the time. Do remimber to loosen the top clamp pinch bolts. It is better to break loose the cap before you remove the fork from the bike.

I hope this helps.
