250 R Vs X

Am currently upgrading my sons ride for the summer. looked at two Hondas today, a '04 and '06 CRF 250 R. I tried to look up book values in KBB and they only had 250 X. Is this the same machine or is there a differance??? Thanx

250X has a milder cam. A wide ratio trans. Electric start, Head light, Plugged up exhaust and air box. 18" rear tire. That's a few of the more noticeable difference's the X has that R does not. X retails for more $ than the R because of the extra's (IMO)
