Next Rides. Where and When

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Hey guys. Just starting a new thread for the next rides. I'm getting alot of email and messages from guys that want to ride and that's what this site is for so lets post up our plans as they come together. Im up for Sat May 9 . Ill be trying to handle my mom and planting the Victory Garden on Sunday. I need to get some tires and other parts on the bike by next week though.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Jason Steve and I will be headed to RAC Saturday hopefully Darrel's ribs will be ok by then and he'll join us. We could choose to join him as his guest at TC since he is a member there as well. I think the fee is a little steep for a day at 50.00 but certainly willing to go if you want.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Not for $50. My chain guide is in. Just waiting on the tires.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Sunday looks like it's gonna be awesome out, anyone riding anywhere other than RAC? still haven't gotten my damn permit

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just checked weather and it looks like we'll be ok till at least 3 or 4 Id like to meet ready to ride at 10:00am and do somewhere around 35-50 miles by 3:00pm. Should be some very interesting single track. The knee is feeling much better so we might even head back down that trail from the fire tower. Get your permits and come along. I can't even think about riding Sunday so no sense looking at the weather for me.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Im out. Just could not get my bike together today in time. I ran into some issues with mech snags, parts and time. I also cut my chain to short and that did not help! . Sunday is out too due to Moms day, maybe?..... Maybe next week. Fireman get your dang permit!!!!!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Nice ride up at RAC today. It was misting all AM so goggles were out but it was warm in the 70's so we had a great ride. It was awesome conditions to Vet out the new set of trials tires on the bike. It just felt like a nice hard pack traction day all day. Those tires will take a bit more getting use to and some suspension tweeks I think but they are AWESOME for Eastern Pa riding. Very good in the wet single track but I had to dial my dampener down a bit since the larger footprint and traction the front tire gets seems to make it hard to swing the bars fast when your going slower in tight single track. Maybe Ill write a review if I can find the right place to put it.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey guys
Right now I'm thinking Sunday and maybe Monday at RAC looks like it might rain Saturday and i need a day to work on my Wave runners anyway just to keep the peace at home.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Monday is a maybe.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

How about Sat?

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

riding Nesquehoning on Sunday... where are you guys going Sat & Mon?

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Reading Anthrecite Co. (RAC)
How is Nesquehoning?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just another wonderful day of some awesome single track riding with old and new friends. It was a small group which is preferable out there. Jason called me early and told me about Andrew who just got his permit and wanted to join us but he couldn't make it, something about beer and burgers that he wanted to go to. Anyway it was Darrell, Steve, Brad, Andew and I. We did about 22 miles of some tight single track with a few river crossings that Andew decided would be a good place to stop and do his laundry. Everyone had a great time and just to let you know Jason I think we might have worn the new Kid at 28 out a bit. Bet he slept pretty good last night. Andew I give you plenty of credit as you told us you didn't have much single track or rock riding experience but you managed to hang with us all day and did very well at that. You and anyone else with that sort of spirit are welcome to join us anytime. Seems after watching Jassn with that trials tire of his Darrell and I both went to Mattos Cycle and bought new tires. Budd advised only to run a rear trials tire and a good front regular so not to get to much front bite. I noticed Jason was fighting his front all day and this made sense to me. I'll let you know in two weeks when I get a chance to ride again. I'm headed for Grand Caymans to do some diving and off shore fishing next weekend with some friends so no riding for me.
Come on guys lets all get together and get out there soon.

Well I'm off to launch my Wave runners and go have some fun on the river this morning. Yes there are other sports.

Gordon

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

haha, I sure did my laundry, a couple times that day. I had a great time out there with you guys, even though I felt like I was holding you up. I appreciate you guys taking me out and giving me some pointers. I'm gonna get some stuff for the bike, hopefully this week, and see if that helps. I did sleep pretty well Saturday night, but I actually still went riding on Sunday at Nesky, which really topped off my weekend. Found some single track in there and had another 4 hours of fun. Thanks again guys.

oh and where do you ride your skis Gordon? I have one of those myself too...

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I live right on the Delaware River so that's where I use them. No riding for me this weekend I'm off to the Caymans for some much needed R&R. Next ride for me will be the weekend of the 6-7

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

anyone going out on Saturday? Just ordered new tire, chain, sprockets, skid plate... maybe I should wait til I get them all on

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Yeah I could do Saturday. Glad you guys got to hook up and ride. Glad Gordon was not to mean to you. He is supposed to wear a court ordered "Does Not Play Well With Others" patch on his back but he keeps forgetting to put it on his coat . Just kidding.
Let me know about Sat Andrew. I can do Sunday too. I just have to emancipate my van, they are doing some drainage work at my place and dumped a load of stone in my driveway blocking it in. I may just have to go use the bike to blend it into my drive if they don't move it today

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Glad you got to take a break from all that Riding and Jet Ski work Have fun. Don't bring that dang Swine Flue back with you

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Just talked to my uncle, he wants to ride 8 Bees tomorrow. Wanna go there?

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Yeah we can do that. What time?

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

...

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Great meeting and riding with you Fireman. You got to see just about everything Hazelton has to ride today. Mud, rocks, Hills, water, rocks, hills, single track, with rocks, and mud, and hills.

BTW, 8B's is no longer allowing day riders unless your on there White list. They had quite a bad time last weekend with out of town day riders trashing the place. Left all there trash on the ground, ripped all around the camp, ripped through peoples camp sites, really dumb stuff. Even today some a holes were ripping in the parking area with no helmets on. I was wondering where they come from when they were asking me in broken english where they could ride then I saw the plates on their cars were all NJ. Must be the Trenton water or something . Come up here and act like that, and we all lose. Pisses me off.....

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Good meeting & riding with you, I had a great time again. I didn't end up leaving til 7pm... 8 hours straight on the bike is some pretty good exercise. If it weren't for them rocks and hills, I'd be pretty good, haha

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Way to get your $ worth! I take it your bike ran fine all day then?

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

yep, no issues after that half hour snafu

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Looks like a RAC ride for Saturday 6/6 Meet ready to ride at 10am. I'd love to think I could fit in Sunday as well but need to get some work done around the house Starting to think Steve might have it right living in a Hotel.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Im out for Sat. Just found out we are spreading my step dad's ashes on Sat. To bad he was not a dirtrider!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

anything going on this weekend?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Meet ready to ride at 10:00am Berma Rd. We will be riding the other side of 61 out to the west possibly go to the 901 pub for lunch. I've been told the single track over there is awesome so Id like to go check it out. I have no idea what to expect so.... Bring your wet gear as it might rain and make sure your bike is ready. Let's go have some fun!!!!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Sounds good. I left my bike out in the rain all week so its almost clean.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey guys my guess was right about there being a bridge across that creek. Appears they built a bridge completely across using a sheet of steel and removed it after the race. So the way we went across the Hwy will be the only way to get there. I would still like to go back and hit some of that stuff fresh next week. From what I can see on google earth that main coal road will take us just about straight out to the 901 pub so there must be some really cool single track to be had without the tougher roller coaster stuff with the all the off camber ridge riding although Im pretty sure if we had ridden that trail the other direction it would have been much easier and everyone would have enjoyed it better. Spoke to Brad last night and his back was feeling much better, anyone think it might have had something to do with the medicine plant he dug up? I have a great idea for Steve and his directional problems. We could use something like a GPS homing beacon on him so we don't loose him in the woods next time. We really need to be more careful about the guy behind us and make sure to wait for him. I will never leave anyone in the woods or just ride off if I don't hear the guy behind me or see him when I look back. Rule of thumb is if we get to an intersection and we don't just go straight through it you wait for the guy behind you to see you turn. The reason we lost Steve was that he came out of the single track and no one was waiting for him so he just crossed the main trail and kept going straight on the single track as he has always been told to do. This should be a good example of why I say "wait for the guy behind you before you turn" This needs to be the way everyone is in our group. If you just stop I or anyone else out front will circle back no exceptions. It's much easier then spending time looking for someone and cell phones don't always work out there. So come on guys watch out for the guy behind you Please. Imagine yourself in Steve's position what if he got hurt and had little or no idea where he was. This is why we we come out of a section and I ask where the guy behind is and you say to me I saw him just behind me and after sitting there for considerable time I start to worry about that rider. We're not racing out there we're just having fun so keep the rider behind you in mind.

Looking forward to next week! See you there ready to ride 10am Berma RD Saturday

Wise words, I wonder why you keep riding off the front of the group smackass issed: ? It does not matter if the lead rider sees the next rider if one of the guys behind him is slower, the group will loose contact on the faster pace. You have to wait until the first rider sees the last rider. The larger the group, the more important. I was riding the "gap" Saturday, and a few times when we made a turn, I stopped and lost contact with the front group well before seeing the rear riders, So I had to try to close the gap and a few times had to guese or figure what way you went. If your riding faster in front than the slowest guy, you will have to wait for the LAST guy unless your going straight.

Hey I think its Garmin that makes the Rhino GPS radio's. Two way radio set that transmits, and receives GPS fix from other Rhino's. Might be a good Idea. Your right that someone could get lost to the point of just having no idea where they are.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I was in front of him and did wait, but the group made 2 consecutive turns, the left out the single track, and then the right on the bigger trail (both of which had options on which way go). So I figured since we discussed "getting out of the rocky single track" and finding better stuff, I waited at the 2nd turn. Oh well, all turned out well. I can't ride Saturday, so hopefully Sunday will be ok weather-wise and I'll find myself riding somewhere, or I might have to actually get out on that waverunner of mine.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

"So I figured since we discussed "getting out of the rocky single track" and finding better stuff" Im sure you thougt Steve saw you but he sort of rides with his head down sometimes and just looking forward like a horse with blinders on. Anyway it happens no big deal and no one got hurt.

Really doesn't matter how it happened just trying to avoid it in the future. We all really to need adhere to waiting for the guy behind you unless there are no turns. I've been out on rides with over 15 guys and we had no trouble by sticking to this simple rule. Hey Im guilty of riding too far out in front and will try not to do that in the future.

Now as far as getting out of the rocky single track I thought Darrell picked up that one rock we saw all day so what are you talking about?

Don't know about the rest of you but Saturday rides seem to work best for me although on occasion I can get away for both days. let's ride

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

You guys are a bunch of crazy men. I'm glad you didn't lose Steve permanently!

Jason has a good point about the "wait for the guy behind you" plan. All it takes is one person to not look back and the whole thing goes to hell. It's not a race but it's sure fun to fly through the trails so I can see how it can be a problem. I've been on both ends of it...getting left behind and being the one to be leading when someone gets stranded. Not fun for anyone.

Part of the problem is having to wide of a gap on the riding skill levels within the group. The faster ones get frustrated with waiting for the slower ones and the slow ones feel guilty for not keeping up. The difficulty of the terrain makes it even worse. I always joke while we are waiting for someone to catch up that their punishment for being slower is that they don't get a chance to rest when they catch up. Funny when I'm waiting but not when I'm the guy being waited on.

As I get older I find that I'm not as willing to push my limits as I even did a few years ago. As a result I'm leery about holding anyone up and I'm less incline to tackle some of the nasty stuff that I used to.

Maybe you should run a tether between everyone like they do in mountain climbing

We tried that but the cable got caught in Steve's Wheel. It was a mess. I was going to zip tie a paint ball gun to my fork and Poker run mark the trail at every turn.

So old man when are you going to join us? We have an awesome group and ride every weekend, pick one and come on out.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I'd love to but I don't know when I can make it. I have some nice trail right out my back door so it's hard to justify traveling 2-3 hours. I do miss riding with you guys though. Too bad they don't have a day pass at RAC.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

They do but it was two weeks ago for the Broad Mt Enduro. By the looks of the some of the trail we saw looks like it was HARD! Something like only 60 out of 400 finished if I recall right. Some day I'll wake up early to ride it maybe. I don't ride well before noon though, just not awake yet.....

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Looks like Im going to cancel for tomorrow since their saying 80% chance and it's not worth the drive for me at that level. I'll chance it up to 40% maybe even a bit higher but 80 is not worth the risk.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

yeah but we need the rain. Have not had any in a while, its been like 2 hours or so....... Good thing its been overcast and humid.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Looks like it might be a nice day Saturday so get your bikes ready. Meet as usual Ready to ride 10am berma rd.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Weather looks great for the weekend. I have a wedding Friday night, so we'll see if I'm in any shape to make it back by that early...

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Did you say you were 28 or 58? Brad goes out all night in the city and still makes it out there and he's 2 hours away. You should be ashamed of yourself. I have a feeling if you don't make it now the "old guys" will never let you live it down.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

haha, 29 now... the wedding's up in Sussex County in dirty Jersey, so I'm not sure when I'm even coming home. Unless I bring the bike to the wedding, and my date riding (I don't know how that'll turn out)... Man, you don't play well with others, haha

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Yeah Im out. I got this nasty bruise on the back of my leg that got aggravated from my riding boots the other week. Its just about cleared up but I need to rest it another full week.
Yes CRF guy I know thats why they make breaker bars for, lesson learned, I do know better I just did not act better. The snap on man is going to catch hell for the rachet breaking though issed:
Try to play nice.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Looked like an awesome day, hope you guys had a good ride. I could have gotten there around noon, but wasn't gonna attempt to travel solo into the woods to find ya.. Oh well, I'm on vacation for over 3 weeks coming up, so I'll be getting out

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Hey just got a call for CRFguy, they (he and Steve) stayed the night and are riding RAC @ 10 AM (Burma Road) Sunday. Andrew, if your up it should be a great day! I'm bummed but I am taking the week off to heal up my calf. I should be good to go next week. I think I could ride Sunday but I am taking the safe road with the severe bruise. I would love to get out over the 4th weekend though. Andrew I know I said I would ride and help tune your bike so I want to get together to work with you on that and have some fun. Maybe do a good 2 day ride/ camp at RAC or 8B's.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

sent ya an email

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

You guys missed a good ride this weekend. Darrell, Brad, John, Steve and I went exploring down from the fire tower headed West and found some really sweet single track that looked like it hadn't been ridden for a while. We need to go re-visit that area again for sure. What I love the most about RAC is that just when you think you know an area it shows you even more awesome stuff.
At one point Brad thought he was running an Enduro when I dropped my bike at the top of a climb and he just rode right over me. He tends to follow way too close so he can stay on someones line. We need to start bringing the video cameras with us again I would have liked to have had that one for the Insurance company.

Looking forward to next weekend! Anyone thinking of taking off Friday to ride? I might be able to swing that. The only nice hotel in the area I have found is the Holiday Express in Frackville which is a little pricy at 125.00 a night plus tax 135.05 total.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I'm planning on a 10am start and would like to be back at the truck by no later then 3-4 to beat the traffic home. Chime in if your coming. Andrew what's your excuse this week? John was out till 3 and still rode. Brad said he went through half a bottle of Scotch with a friend and he rode. Must be an age thing, ha?

Posted by: simmeth---------------------

Where do I sign up? Sounds like a cool crew you guys have here, wouldn't mind joining up. I'm from central jersey, currently in the process of getting a pickup truck so I can get my bike(s) around.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

haha, I stayed up in Jersey and didn't make it back down til about noon and wasn't going to try to hunt you guys down, lol. Sunday I was in Dewey Beach drinking my face off, which was a blast. So are you talking Friday or Saturday? I work Thursday night til 8am, but I can figure something out to be there at 10... and Saturday I'm game too.

simmeth - start with getting a RAC permit - http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just to clear it up
That would be a 10am start time Saturday morning. Steve says "Bring your A game he's not waiting for the rest of us any more"

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I talked to a guy at work and he is going Friday too, so I should be there then, but I think they have a mix of bikes and 4-wheelers, so maybe it'll be a good day for me to explore and actually have time to see and learn some of the trails, haha. See ya Saturday.

Sorry I missed this post Simmeth. Yeah procure your RAC Permit and get your but up to Pottsville . BTW, Might I suggest a CAV instead of a Pickup truck. Mine has worked out wonderful for many years.

BTW, I am having a cook / camp out here Friday night so I'm going to try to ride Sunday if anyone is game.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

We're riding today instead of Sat. Still meeting ready to ride 10am Berma rd.
See you there

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather turned out to be great, nice and cool. Got to love that this time of year with all the gear on! Small group just Steve, Brad. Andew and I. Steve and Brad were jockeying all day for the lead, it was cool to see them being competitive with each other and I was bringing up the rear and helping Andew try and pick up the pace and give him some pointers that I think may have helped. He could use a bike with a button so that he doesn't get so worn out from kicking that that thing when it won't cooperate. Have to give him credit by the end of the day he was really on his game and even asked for more rocks. Can you imagine that? I said what rocks, we have rocks in PA?
What's going on with the rest of you guys? Anyone out riding? Dust off the bikes and let's get together!

Gordon

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Great glad to here it. Hey just remember Andrew is the kid and needs the workout of kicking the bike! Did you get to ride his bike at all? I know he asked me at the end of our last ride up there and I had already taken my gear off. Maybe a few clicks in the right direction can help him out as well.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Had a good day Friday, after a rocky start... maybe it was the new boots that took some getting used to, who knows. And a push button would be pretty damn nice, maybe I'll look into a new bike sometime soon here now that I know I'm enjoying this new found habit of mine.
hit 8 Bees today with my uncle and cousin... no single track, just did some exploring and playing... J- We got the same runaround about no day riders, but since we're on the "good list" we were good to go... we had to go up to the junk yard office to talk to Carmella, guess she was busy or didn't feel like coming down, so the lady at the house told us to go up there. We met Neal Bonner while we were packing up and he said he'd make sure we were on the list and tell Carmella that we were good guys, so I guess we can keep going there for a while too.

Posted by: simmeth---------------------

Just got my pickup truck on the road yesterday. Unfortunately I am broke as a joke now

Anyway, do you guys ride any other places than Anthracite? Pottsville is about 3 hours from me, while I would like to make it out there to ride with you guys, it may be a little bit hard for me. I need to get some gear as well and the money situation is tight. Also their office hours directly conflict with my work schedule Don't think I could ever make it out there to get a permit. How late into the season do you guys usually ride there also, considering its about the second week into July.

Definitely keep me posted if there are other areas and the dates and times.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Hello. I rode with you guys the other week and Jason told me to watch the forum. I was riding the ktm 525. I missed three weeks ago because we had to bury a friend that didnt beat cancer and the week after I had a poker run for autism that I rode. Last week I rode RAC saturday and sunday and I didn't see anybody parking along the road with bikes at 10. Anyways, I take it this saturday at 10 am correct? I should be able to make that.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Derrick, right?
We usually park up on the upper part of the lot and head out onto the trails at 10am. I probably won't be there for the next couple Saturdays, but Gordon will post on here usually tonight or Friday and say whether or not that group is going.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Hi Rage, sorry to here about your bud. Sucks to plant a good man, what else can you say. It was great meeting and riding with you the other week, come on out with us on Sunday!
Anyway, we are looking to do an A ride on Sunday. Ready to Ride @ 10.
This is an A ride since we have some real fast guys showing up who need to wait on ME so that's some fast guys . We are going to be doing some race training on mostly single track with little or no stops.

Anyone who wants to rock a B ride chime in and get it set up. I don't think Ill be up for it later in the day since It's likely I'll have gotten my butt kicked for at least 5 hours . I need a few weeks to get back in shape!
Jason

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Guys
Like Jason said this week's ride will be an "A" only ride since we're going to have a pretty fast pace set and guys that really won't want to wait for slower riders. If you have to question yourself if you're an A rider in our group then you probably don't belong on this ride. We will be looking toward the more challenging stuff and exploring the unknown trying to ride mostly single track from the Enduros that are run out there that I know of. Anyway stay safe and have fun out there. Derrick join us at 10am Berma rd you'll have a good time. By the way we were there last week ready to ride at 10am as usual don't know how you missed us if you were there I always park in the same spot.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I think your problem may have been looking for us at 10am. We meet ready to ride by 10am. That's out of the parking lot at 10am if you were there by 10:05 you missed us. But you should have seen my truck and trailer and the cute Blonde one of the guys left reading the paper all day sitting there in her car. I was trying to think of ways to stay behind with her but no one was buying it.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

we were there on Friday last week.... it's ok, old age = poor memory

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

you got me on that one but you'll still pay for it when I get you out there again....We were there Friday he's right, sorry I don't usually get a day off around here so I'm confused when it happens.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

BAAAAAAA HAAAAAA HAAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhh. ohhhhh....... BAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

"I dont know how you could have missed us, perhaps you were in the wrong time zone or did not set your watch to DST in April, blah blah"

Too funny.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Hey guys. I only really rode with you guys once so I am not sure what you guys consider A rider to be but I will come out and give it a shot. The more I ride single track the more I like it. Looking forward to Sunday. I'll make sure I get there by 930. Thanks

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I know I'm not keeping up with that, lol, but I'll be somewhere Sunday, probably Nesquehoning or 8 Bees... unless I can find another novice to ride RAC with. Have fun fellas.

Really enjoyed the ride today and hope everyone had as good a time as I did. We covered about 30 miles at what I would call a good pace for a group of 10 with little or no waiting from the front to the back of the pack. It looked a little dicey first thing this morning but once everyone loosened up it was sweet. The afternoon group did another 15 miles for a total of 45. I can only see us getting faster and covering more distance as we get better riding together. See you guys next week.
Hey the Hancock dual sport is Aug 8 & 9 I'll be shooting for the 8th and you're all welcome to join. It's one of the nicest rides of the summer.

Great ride. I still didn't unload the bikes yet from the truck. Had to meet wife's Uncle that stopped in from out of state for the day. I will definitely have to take a look at that 450 sx if Al plans on riding that again. Kept shutting off on him. Looking forward to next ride. Thanks guys.

Great quick ride. That first section down past the fire tower was wild. Yeah a great paced group. It fun riding with a larger group like that since you can do some passing and get passed while pushing the skills a bit. Al was pretty quick for riding an MX bike in the woods that is not even his bike! The old WR's all ran great. My tag plate got bent when a Honda rear ended me while I was stopped. Wonder who that was? Anyway the Honda suffered a broken headlight. He claims it broke when he hit a tree that happens to be the same height as my back fender and some how reached over his front fender .
Man I was tired. My hand even started to cramp up on the second ride. It was a warm day. I was thinking about jumping in the water up where the girls, errrr, people were swimming. I feel good today though.

Had a talk with the "Honda rider" He said he's sorry and in the future claims he won't ride anyones back tire.
I've said this before but feel it's needed again. Competition is a good thing and fun but not to the point that someone gets hurt. Before you can crowd the rider in front of you, you must be ready to take whatever steps are needed not to run into him or worse yet ride over them. That simply won't be tolerated. Bike control is not just twisting the throttle but even more important is knowing how to brake, and use of the front brake is key to stopping quick. We're all out to have fun and make it back to the trucks in one piece. Play nice guys!

Give it some thought

Yeah and the sticker on the back of my helmet clearly reads "BACK OFF, I'M DRUNK!"
