Well, as it states I have a clunk in the front end...I am new to messing with ANY suspension as I have some good friends that usually have an answer, but I thought I would try you guys for this one, since there is a section related to suspension. I bought the bike used and took it out a few times, so as far as history goes etc. its new to me but it has definitely been abused before I got it. My problem is that it seems as though the forks are "shooting out" Too fast and making this clunking kind of noise. I came to this conclusion because I was going over a jump and it makes the clunk as soon as I take off, not on the landing. Hopefully someone knows what I should be adjusting/doing about it. Suspension stuff is new to me so I'm sorry if my terminology is crappy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Bruno

Bruno,
It sounds like you have a major problem. The forks should not do that. The rebound and top out prevent what you are describing. We can only speculate as to the reason. My advice would be to service the fork complete and determine what is wrong. It could be very simple, piece of debris holding a shim open to a more serious issue, like broken shims etc.
Bottom line get it looked at.

Ok, well then, I'll do that for sure. I was hoping it would be something that was an easy diagnosis. Thanks for the info
and I'll pull up the sleeves and get ready for a possible downward battle with them then.
haha.

The inner cartridge should have that "piston" (sorry don't know all the right words) that pushes itself out etc. Mine leaked its oil out...it was still nice and blue as compared to the oil in the main chamber, but when i move that piston at all it leaks and you can hear it suck air in/out. Does this make sense to anyone, and would that possibly cause my problem? Thanks for any more info. Also, is that fixable?

Sounds like you need to replace your cartridge seals and ICS seal. A realtively easy and inexspensive fix.
