95 yz 250 clutch promblm

my 95 yz 250 has new clutch i replaced clutch cable but seems to be long with all ajustment max.were it hooks to the releas leaver on the case seems it could go back farther is there souposed to be a spring on it or do u have to adjust it intrnaly if so how?tnx
