This Week's Ride. Where and When

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Thought I'd start a New Thread since the old one was starting to get so long.
I'd like to ride Sat but weather isn't looking good right now so it might have to be Sun. Let's wait and see what weather looks like tomorrow before we decide.
This will again be an "A" ride fast paced with little or no stopping. Last week's ride was a total of 45 miles for those that stayed out for the second half. I'd like to increase that each week and even up the pace. Must say that was one of the most enjoyable rides I've been on in a while and those that chimed in seemed to feel the same way. Looks like we have a pretty good group. If your planning on bringing anyone new into the group keep in mind the pace and type of terrain as this won't change much unless it gets harder or tougher.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather looks good for tomorrow.
Meet at Berma Rd Ready to ride at 10am. The pace will be the same as last week with us looking for even more new single track.
See you there

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Nice small group only 4 of us. I had a chance to look over the ride around that lake trail and it looks like we can continue on some trail just to the east of where we came out. I also want to try and hit that single track that runs back downhill next time from the one we take straight out off the wide trail. Looks like if we run down that hill we'll hit some of the Shotgun enduro track stuff.
See you Saturday

Posted by: DynastyShockerz---------------------

where are you riding? Is it in lower NY? If it is please pm me, i want to do some trail riding!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

We ride in the Saint Clair, PA area know as Reading Anthrecite Caol Company and you need a permit to ride their land.

Posted by: flyingfuzzball---------------------

hey CRFguy how much does the permit cost and where can i get one?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

You can only get them from the Coal company. They cost 100.00 for the calander year and their website is http://www.readinganthracite.com/access-permits/

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I'll be there 10am ready to ride Sat. Right now looks like Steve, Brad, Jason, hope to see Darrel and Derrick. I know a lot of guys are going to the Rattle snake enduro Sunday but that's just too much driving for me.

Posted by: DynastyShockerz---------------------

do you ride the same trail every week? do you think a ttr 125 could make it out there

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather was great nice small group only 5 of us pace was good even grandma held her own damm she's getting good although the flat tire was a drag. I can see an extra heavy duty tube in the future. Thanks to everyone in the group that tube change went very quick except for the inflation. I realized I could use a new pump. Even after I was told it was time to start heading back to the truck everyone seemed to have that "one more time" attitude that I personally don't like in the play area. Brad took a real nasty spill on one of the silt hills with his bike following him back down but he managed to "Save the bike". Darrell went down and looked back up at the walmart hill and to my surprize he decided not to try it. That tells me not to even bother looking as he's one of the best riders I know.

As to riding the same trails... No we don't there is plenty of new stuff everywhere you look and we all enjoy finding it. There are several that we do on a regular basis and mix them up and look for new. As to the 125 it would be fine out there. It's not the bike but rather the rider that makes the difference. I myself ride a 525 which most guys will tell you is too big but it's what I enjoy and love the torque.

Posted by: DynastyShockerz---------------------

can atv's ride there too? I'm getting my car soon and two of my friends have atvs, can we all go out and ride?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Yes there are plenty of them that do but you won't find any in our group.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

I'm sure. I had a bit of a "run in" with a quad last week so it's a bit of an inside, or upside down joke maybe .
I might make it Sat. Not sure yet. Messed up my dates and thought I had some where else to be. Still I could help some friends paint. I would rather ride but I know they need the help.

RIDE! I HATE PAINTING, why dont they just hire some illegals, they are cheap and do a good job. I can't wait to come out and ride where u guys ride.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Had a great day. Weather was awesome nice and wet out there so no dust. Found some new trails on the south side of Burma rd down by the water. Also saw a trial that leads over to the other side of the lake where we have seen a few local women taking in the sun, should we say. Steve had a nasty get off after realizing the throttle isn't a brake. Somehow he managed to launch himself about 30 feet off the trail and hit his back on a tree. To his credit he did manage to punish the tree and several others during his brief flight. Picture is after I circled back to find him and we picked up the bike. Good news is he's OK and will be able to ride next weekend. Damm trees and rocks someone should clean them up. Jason it's your turn, I've picked up enough of them.

Nahhh, that's why I put the trials tires on, to go over the stuff not bounce off of it!

I am out for Sat but thinking about a B ride Sunday at RAC

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I'm in for Sunday

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

10 AM Burma rd a RAC. Just got my bike squared away. Andrew I'll call you if I bag. Looks like a large storm that may or may not push into the Pottsville in the AM. Ill check it later tonight.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

yeah let me know as soon as you know, if we're not going, I'm going drinking late, lol, but I wanna go riding, so don't let that sway ya

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Looks like a big chance of ass weather all AM. More so up state so I'm gonna bag. Sucks cause I spent the afternoon scrambeling to get my bike ready. Oh well, next week maybe. I can't ride to much or I'll get to fast and what fun would that be?

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

ugh, looks phenomenal all day... http://www.weather.com/outlook/recr...topnav_outdoors
let me know if you change your mind, I'll even head up later, got nothing going on

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Looks like it rained most of the day in St Clair. I know it did here. I was watching the temp and radar and the storms just kept rolling down the 61 / 73 corridor.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Short version of a real short ride..... Turned out to be just Brad and I. We started out around 9:15 and went off into the wonderful stuff up there. I was out front with Brad right behind me as usual barking at my back tire as we passed a bunch of slower riders so I picked up the pace and pulled away from him and passed several riders until I came to the first signed turn and waited for him. Well the riders I passed came out and no sign of Brad so I started asking if anyone saw him and one guy said he was OK but stuck off the trail and just then I got a text from Brad saying "Broken Radiator". Apparently he went slightly off the trail and railed a tree stump with his right side Rad so that was the end of the day. I can tell you it was quite exciting to ride the wrong way for the 1.5 miles I needed to back track to get him you should have seen the looks I got . He was only .4 miles into the course when it happened. Good news is no injuries and we'll ride again this weekend.

Hope to see you all at Burma Sat.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Gordon, just for my own edification, what class rider am I considered when you're talking A, B, C? Jason gave me his version, so I'm curious if yours is the same

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I don't claim to be a judge nor care to be. It's all about having fun and not getting anyone hurt! We'll just go with whatever Jason told you. Really comes down to seat time.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Dude, that sucks!

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Just trying to ride, but you've been doing the "A" rides, so I know I'm not in for them, but trying to figure out when I can get up there without riding alone...

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I think Gordon is trying to say that you suck but doesn't want to hurt your feelings...he's a nice guy like that

Now Me, I already know I suck so my feelings can't be hurt

Actually if you can keep up with him of some on the stuff he rides you are doing pretty good. Gordon is real good a pushing you but not tot he point of being an ass so you get hurt. A great guy to ride with.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

haha, at least someone else picked up on that, thanks

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Andrew I wasn't trying to say you suck in fact I think the last time we were out you did really well and I enjoyed having you in the group. Problem is the pace and level of type of terrain we ride when your not with us I feel might be over your head at the moment. You just need more seat time and you'll be there. You have the heart and I don't want to exclude you nor is it my place to do that. I list the ride as an "a" ride so that everyone knows we're not into waiting around or chatting but rather trying to cover miles and see some good stuff. Problem comes into play when we get into new area's that I don't know and could be taking you or someone like you down the wrong trail. I really would feel bad if anyone I rode with got hurt out there and usually pick stuff for the weakest rider in the group. That being said it's usually me so if I can ride it I know the group is OK. I promise there will be a ride coming up soon that you will be invited on. Maybe even this weekend as Steve's back is still sore so it might be a slower paced less technical ride. Really I wasn't picking on you or singling you out. I think you're a cool dude just need more time in the saddle. We were all there at one time or another.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Nah I know, I didn't take anything to heart, just breaking a little balls back... I just wanna get out riding, but don't want to go by myself, which isn't helping me get any better because it's been probably over a month now since I've been out.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Andrew, I was really hoping you could make the lost trails ride. I think you should take off for it! I think the area, group, and pace would be right up your alley.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I'd love to ride Lost Trails again, but I'm attending a weekend-long class at the National Fire Academy and it's been scheduled since April. That's why I was hoping they were gonna make it the 29th, but oh well. I'll be at RAC on Saturday and Nesquehoning on Sunday, then on the waverunner Monday at Blue Marsh, so I'm psyched about this weekend at least.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

10am ready to ride It will be a fast paced ride.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Im 50/50 on Sat at the moment. See how I feel later tonight. I have to clean out my van and get the bike back in it.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Jason you can at least come up with a more creative excuss then that........ Get your ass out there and make it happen.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

You have seen his van, right? Sounds like a pretty sound excuse to me!

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

Dave is on the forums early this morning, he must be on his way to Unadilla.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Great ride today!! Brad, Steve, Darrell and Andrew, who by the way did very well today, we were all impressed by the improvement he has made. Keep up the riding and you'll only get better and faster it was fun having you with us. Lets see everyone sort of had their moment but there were a couple that stood out. Mine was probably the most memorable(yes I am laughing at myself), it happened on a new trail that crossed a creak about 2.5 feet deep. We were on our way back again and Darrell had just crossed and I was right behind him. I entered the water on what looked like a good line only to have a rock move out under my front wheel and throw me side ways. Well at least it was a nice hot day and the swim was cooling. The bike of course sucked in enough water to hydro lock and I needed to take out the plug crank it over and blow out the water then start it up. Sure glad it's a button bike and cooperated. Took about 1/2 hour to get it going but no big deal. I wasn't the only swimmer. Steve managed to get himself completely submerged earlier in the day. All in all it was fun and everyone had a good ride.

Yep! I hope you did OK at Lost Trails.

Yeah I picked up a pair of goats Friday and they messed up my van a bit if that's possible, I need to air it out a bit so it smells more like sweaty boots and gas than sweaty boots, gas, and goats.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Goats??? I gotta hear this one!!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Live goats in van = better than dead horse in blazer

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I think he took my advice about not having to mow the grass

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

I think I remember a story that involved some goat blood in a truck, a carwash and the police

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Me too! Thus why i stay away from goats!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Oh, but sheep are OK???

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Yes, their softer.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Tiny Ruminants are cool.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

No riding for me this weekend I'm not even bringing the bikes home with the storm coming in. Have fun if you go!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Let's keep an eye on weather but right now it looks like Saturday Morning Burma Rd 10am ready to ride.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Starting to look like Sunday might be a better day. Anyone care if we change the day? Just a thought.... I want to ride this weekend.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Whole weekend looks like a washout again. Sunday is a no-go for me.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Yeah maybe but we can hope for a break in the rain.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Looking good for Sunday! Only 20% chance of rain so no big deal. Meet ready to ride at 10am. Jason are you coming or is there a beer feist, cousin meeting, goat chasing, ferret hospital trip or some other wild Jason excuse as to why not.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Yeah I can do Sunday. I wanted to set up a goat zapping containment system today but me thinks hi voltage, rain, and beer may not be the best combination.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

The High Voltage and beer should make for a good break time story so feel free it's not raining.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

I am ready. Whats the word?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

See you there ready to ride at 10:00am Looks like Darrell, Steve, Jason anyone else coming?

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Sounds like a good group to me!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Great day today, great ride. Sorry Steve went flat late in the day but I think we got a good bit in before he had to turn back. The new guys road well even on that very tough single track off the fire tower. Even Derrick had to call it quits on that section and turn back with cramps. I ended up taking a new turn just over that washed out creek bed staying right and found an incredible section that rolled through a creek bed valley, hills, ridge backs, nice fern wooded section. It reminded me of West Virgina riding. The guys said that was the best trail they have ever been on in RAC 1/2 way through, when we were done, they said it was the best trail anywhere they hab been on. I have to say it was quite sweet. Nice deep water crossing, this one part was just a 10" wide flat spot on the top of a ridge.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Glad it turned out to be a good day for you guys... what's the plan for Saturday?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

It will depend on weather later in the week but we always try for Sat as the day. This weekend I might even try for a two day Sat and Sun.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

...or come to Lost Trails on Saturday?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Meet 10am ready to ride Burma Rd.
See you there.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Sorry guys no riding for me this week. I'm still waiting for a new inner clutch hub. One of the fingers broke and Ktm has it on back order with a new part number.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I'm hoping to get out on Sunday, but it's not looking good.
Next weekend is the Moonshine Enduro... I'll be helping work it, but you guys should ride it. http://www.vftr.org/Moonhine2009.html

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Im thinking I might ride it. I get up early about twice a year to ride or race, and the Univest bike race was a wash out so I'm full of piss and Vinegar and ready to ride hard. I'm riding dirt bike way better this year than I am riding bike anyway, so I should win my class if not the overall..... . Do I count as an old guy yet? Just looking to sweep the series.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Anybody riding tomorrow?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Jason Brad told me he thought you were the old guy in the pack. I will be there but have always had a love hate with this enduro as it has always meant to me that the summer is really over. Hey good luck winning in your class old man, sure hope Jack Laferty doesn't show up it would be a real bummer to be beaten by a 70 year old but I garantee you can't keep up with him. Just hope we all ride as good when we get there.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

This isn't looking good for the weekend but I'll keep you posted

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

I might have to bail, literally, My hot water heater is leaking. I have to get it replaced and I want to relocate it so it might be more than I can get done today since I have a busy day to begin with. Maybe Sunday If I can take a hot shower in the morning.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just finished putting my bike together a few minuets ago and don't feel like waking up at the crack of dawn to go race so. I'll be at Burma rd 11am ready to ride. Looks like Jason, Steve, maybe Brad and me. Hope anyone going to the race has a good time.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Wow, great ride. I was a bit disappointed not riding the MoonShine, but man, I think we made up for it toady with a nice fast paced hard ride. I spent the first hour trying to tune my bike to run a higher front tire PSI and I think I am real close. We circled back to hook up with Brad and two new friends and those guys hung tough for a good hour or so. With little recent seat time and even less tuned bikes. The KTM 450 was fairly easy to rough in quick as you don't even need a screw driver to dial in the upper forks and CRF guy was able to recite a decent base line dial . The guy was over 10 clicks out from the "recommended" tune and road very well after some quick hacking on the bike. Terry was at quite a disadvantage on a late 80's Yamaha XT and the bike showed some damage in short order. Trigger would be proud. Get that 03 WR 426 on the tail bro! Those Big Bore Blue Bikes are Unstoppable! You both need bark busters, gears, and some tuning and you will be on the pace with some practice! Oh and put some used tires on that KTM 450, you'll be very happy with the improved grip . I know the one guy slammed his finger pretty hard.
Anyway, they peeled off the group after we crossed Burmma road and the 4 of us just slid into a freaking awesome groove and pace! we were all 4 just about 1.5 bikes off the next guy and just started ramping up the pace. I think CRF guy was just doing everything he could to rachet up the PSI on Steve who was second wheel but just could not be dropped today! I think I may have even seen Gordon almost ask for a break even though there was no reason to wait for anyone Steve's riding is right on par and his conditioning / off bike training system seems to have improved his stamina despite the high cost of the program!
With not having to wait for anyone, we just started running sections back to back. I started standing up on the pegs and grabbing gears! We were Cooking! We ran the fire tower section and that is a LONG HARD TECH section since it does not cross any other trails for maybe 5 miles so we ran it all! I think we were on great pace to run a decent race. I think maybe we were in the 45 mile range today (?) but I'm not sure I could have handled 70 miles or so without a break and I would need some fuel and water. I was good and tired after the ride so that's awesome. I even had to pit stop at KFC in Pottsville on the way home. CRF guy was kind enough to try and share some water with me on the ride home on Rt 61 @ 70 MPH, so I tried to share a drumstick with Steve who was driving CRF guy's truck, but I think he had his window rolled up so I'm not sure he got any of that Original Recipe loving or not, LOL
Lots of fun!

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

What are you going looking like this weekend? I'm up for either day, just want to know because I can do some firehouse stuff on Saturday if you're not going.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Right now it looks like Saturday but I still need to get some work done on the bikes. Will keep you posted

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

ugh, now I might not make it... unless I ride without rear brakes... which I don't usually use, but ya never know

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I'll be there 11am ready to ride Just finished working on the bikes but need some sleep so a little later start. See you there.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Just rebuilt my rear master cylinder... we'll see how I did, see you there 11am

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just checked weather and it's looking good for tomorrow so we're on for 10am ready to ride Berma Rd. See you guys there.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Looks like alot of AM rain, but the bike is running again, so I'll be there if the weather looks OK when I get up and check it again.
Apparently something with my decompression system got messed, it looks as if my exhaust valve was stuck open and that's why I couldn't get it running. Along with a corroded spark plug cap... so we'll see.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather turned out to be awesome and the ride was great. Everyone held a good pace and we covered some new and of course old trails. Andew get that 250X and you'll really be kicking ass with the button.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I should have the new truck on the road tomorrow, that is if my GF doesn't steal it. Just what I need another vehicle. Weather looks good for a 10am start as usual. See you guys there.
Steve says the challenge is on he's been reading all week and has it in his head that no one will keep up with him.

If anyone is interested I might be persuaded to sell one of my Suburbans

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Reading or riding? Ill sell that truck. Just need to get some pics and all the info.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

With Steve he under the impression that if he reads enough it will just come to him. Hey maybe it works......

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

By the way are you riding tomorrow?

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

I was 50/50 depending on weather the van started. It did so as long as I get up in the AM. the weather looks kind of crappy but warm so I will ride that. What do you say?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I was just realizing I need to change that trials tire out for a knob soon. This sucks would be better to move to a warmer climate. Not sure about riding this weekend yet but would love to get in one more ride out there before switching to sand in South Jersey since it's usually 10-15 degrees warmer down there this time of year. Will let you know by Friday about the weekend for me.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Darrell asked if we can ride Sunday this weekend. Anyone have a problem with that? I've been watching weather and it looks like Sunday will be the better day anyway. Might even be a wash for Sunday but stands a better chance then Saturday. Right now looks like Steve, Brad, Darrell, Randy new guy and me. Jason is his usual maybe, we'll see, definitely up in the air.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

By the looks of it I will be able to make it on sunday. I've been working saturdays lately and with work and the new little one my schedule has been full but I'll be out Sunday if we ride.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Sunday works for me if it's not a washout. This crap looks like it's hanging around til about Monday afternoon...

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I hope it works out for you guys. I had nearly 2" of snow when I got up this morning. Nothing stuck to the road but it still came down!!!

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

we had 2" of snow at 6:00 last night, same thing with nothing sticking to the roads, but it snowed all day and did start to stick to the grass after a while.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Not looking good for the weekend at all let's see what happens for sunday

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

I'm out on tomorrow, looks pretty bad. Going drinking tonight til 6am instead now.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

This upcoming Saturday is no good, but Sunday works for me if you guys can swing it.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather is again not looking too favorable right now but it is only Wed. I'm going to plan on making this a two day event at this point since it will most likely be the last ride out there for awhile. I plan on switching to my sand setup for the upcoming dualsport on the 31st-1st and also the one the following week in south Jersey. Anyone with a street legal registered and insured bike can join us. The riding down there is way less technical and much faster paced. I've always said that South Jersey makes you faster and the Coal company makes you more technical. Andrew get your bike insured and registered and you will get much faster down there. It could be just what you need not that your slow by any means but I think it will help you.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Where you guys ride at in Jersey? I was just wondering how long the drive would be for me. Looking forward to some of that riding. Got a fresh knobby on the back now. Hopefully the weather cooperates for this weekend.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Derrick
South Jersey is broken up into 3 state parks that cover over 1 Million acres I believe. Its huge to say the least and covered with single track that is fast and fun. Its usually 10-15 degrees warmer down there with the off shore winds and hardly ever snows or sticks. Try searching for the Corranza memorial in Mt Holly NJ. That will at least give you some idea. I know the area as well if not better then Rac and can get us from say Toms river to AC with little or no paved road. Plenty of gas and food along the way. Dress warm if you come we stay out for hours. Terrain is varied bit with very little elevation change, SJ is mostly flat 200-300 foot hills are about it and there aren't many. Lots of fast moving single track that I can show you.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Looking forward to some fast and loose terrain. I ran some enduro's in south jersey a few years back and have been wanting to get back for some more. Hope the weather holds out for RAC this weekend cause I can never get enough of that.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Go here to check out the upcoming rides.
http://www.ecea.org/info/ecea_schedule_card_2009.pdf

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Checked it out and it looks like it will be a washout for tomorrow so I'll be there Sunday ready to ride at 10am

I've been so busy here at the business this week that I just don't have time to change my setup for south jersey and the weather for RAc looks good for Saturday so one more day out there it is. Darrel sure hope we didn't beat up Randy too bad and he wants to join us again. Maybe this time we'll show him some rocks. Jason asked about going to Hazelton and I think that might be a good idea for a change. Who's up for it? Derrick, it's in Hazelton not far for you. If you've never been there Jason and I know the place really well and there is some very cool single track and other fun stuff.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

Sounds good to me. I'll run to Hazelton no problem. Better then the 4 1/2 hour drive to the Dual Sport. Let me know which place and maybe send me some directions. My email is dreitnouer@reitnouer.com. Looking forward.

I'm in for whatever, if it's Saturday, the earlier the better - got forced for OT at 5pm,
I'll probably be at RAC on Sunday as well.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Please no one show up with anyone without my knowing before hand as this will be a by invitation only ride. Sorry but I'm responsible for everyone I bring in there. So clear it with me first or don't bring them. That's just how it has to be there, sorry. Cost is $25.00 cash per rider just so you know.

Hazleton 10/31 meet at Exxon 9:30 to all go in together.

My friend Al has a weekend off from work and he called me. He rode with us once before on the ktm 450 so if that alright let me know. Either way I'm good to go.

Derek

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Derek I don't want to say no but right now I have too, sorry. Tell him not to take it personally but the group is getting too large and I don't want to overwhelm them. Looks like Steve, Brad, Darrel, Randy, Derek, Andrew, Budy, Dror, Jason and me that's 10 like I said sorry but we need to cut it off there maybe next time or if someone calls out.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Let's see there was Steve, Darrell, Randy, Derek, Al, Buddy, Dror, Andrew, Gordon.
On the way out I was starting to think this might be a wet ride but luck was on our side and it didn't rain till we were all on the way home. Riding in Hazleton is always fun for me and brings back many fond memories. We of course hit all of Dan's marked out single track as well as plenty of stuff that was certainly off the radar way back then. It's sort of weird being there in what seems like a ghost town but still well marked as if it just closed yesterday. Hey Dan if you're reading this you need to get out there and do some grooming. We rode from around 10 till just after 2 or so. The highlight of the day was when Steve showed us all up and went up the big hill in the play area with no problem. Most of us were still looking for a line that might be doable when he just went for it and made us look silly. Good for him!! He has made incredible advancements in his riding over the last couple of years. In fact Dror and Buddy keep saying leave him home its embarrassing already. Jason you missed a great ride.

Another great day out on the bike with friends

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

what's the plan for this weekend? I got a buddy that wants to ride Sunday, but I'm off both days, so I'm in for whatever. Can you email me those pics Gordon?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weekend plans are always Saturday first weather depending and maybe Sunday we'll see.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

I have to work saturday, have to move one of our cranes up 5 feet to clear one of our new projects. I'm game for sunday though. Gonna have to break the Honda out though, my Ktm feels like you're riding on a flat front tire, the front end is really skating around and getting worse each weekend.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Derek take it to budd Mattos he does incredable suspension work and knows what we ride on. He's the man for your problems

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Sorry guys
I won't be riding this weekend if you go out there be safe and enjoy.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

anyone else from the group going either day? Steve, Brad, Darrell? I'm definitely going somewhere on Sunday, not quite sure yet, but I wouldn't mind getting out Saturday too. Derek, I'll let you know sometime tomorrow where I'm going on Sunday if you wanna go with my buddy and I.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

You might want to check with Jason he's the only one I think that might be able to go.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

RAC 11 AM R2R. 10-4?
Lets see if we can get lost in the woods!
Steve, get your butt out there. We will leave no man behind!
Any other takers chime in or be there. It's a Jason ride so A,B,C are welcome. No quads, sorry.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Great freaking picture! Great bunch of guys there! sorry I missed it. Glad there is such an awesome core of buds to ride with on a regular basis. This is what DRN was supposed to be about! I love it when we are riding and folks ask us where we are from. NJ, NY, Pa - all parts. Man how do you guys get together? DRN baby!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Andew call Jason and Derek I think they both want to ride. If you don't have their numbers call me and I'll give them to you. Enjoy and be safe

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

I can't make it either now. Had an unexpected visit from some out of area family. I was loaded up and everything but I don't get to see them to often. Hopefully next week will be good weather.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather looking good for both days right now and since I didn't get my fill last week I'm thinking both days this weekend. Who's in? We could mix it up and do one day Rac and the other in Hazleton. http://www.weather.com/weather/tend...Link_undeclared

Ok right now it's looking more like just Sunday based on weather but let's see what they say tomorrow. I think it will be Steve, Brad, Darrel, Randy, me, who else is coming? Andrew? Derek? Buddy? Dror? Jason?

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Nah I'm out, I'll be up in Brandonville on my buddy's club's trail ride. If something happens with that, I'll be down.

Posted by: rageracing---------------------

I'm in for sunday...

10am Rac ready to ride

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Wow! what else can you say about the weather on a day mid Nov? It was supposed to be a lager group but there were a couple of no shows without even a call to let us know you weren't coming. (Shame on you guys) We did wait till 10 even though we were all ready to go earlier but still no calls so off we went. Group was Jason, Dror, Buddy, Steve and me. It was an awesome day with a great group of riders that held a very fast pace with almost no breaks, except the one that the water commission guy came along and told us we were trespassing. Imagine that, dirtbikers trespassing. I doubt that ever happens! Anyway he was nice and we didn't really know we were on their property so we left. We covered just over 40 miles total (single track) and by the end of the day everyone knew they were out on a tough ride. Steve couldn't stop his thighs from cramping up on the way home and was in some serious pain for a while. I had my moment with a tree that my bike thought it could plow down but belive me the tree won. Jason was fighting a broken steering stabilizer. Dror had his moment in a rock garden that I thought was going to be a diaster but happily he got right back up on his feet and shook it off.
All in all a great day with wonderful riding buddies and I couldn't think of a better way to spend such a glorious day.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

Sounds like a great ride. I spent this beautiful weekend in my house fighting a cold. I've read a couple stories about the water guys, but I'm glad he was cool. Next weekend doesn't look too shabby, so maybe I can squeeze a last ride in before winter really hits. Off topic, but I'm looking at a 2008 Yamaha WR250f, anyone have any good or bad thoughts on them?

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Weather right now is looking good for Saturday and maybe Sunday but I can only ride one day so hoping for Saturday. Will keep you posted. If there's enough interest I'm game for Hazleton so let me know.

Sorry for the no call. Had an emergency at work and didn't get it fixed till 4 in the morning and I left my phone there. Took me most of the day till I realized where it might be. Why can't machinery just not break down you know. HaHa

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

10am ready to ride RAC see you there.

Posted by: 53fireman---------------------

trying to go, bike won't start. :-( I'll be there if something changes
