looking for new tires

i recently went trail riding and i noticed i had some pretty hellacious looking cracks in my front tire so i figured well if im gonna buy one tire i might as buy two im really a weekend warrior mostly i ride out at some trails but nothing to gnarley but i tend to ride at tracks alot more so can someone tell me what kind of tire to go with that is a pretty universal one im not a experienced rider at all but i am pretty good so i dont need anything extreme like i said i need something good for trail and good for the track when i go thanks!

Some of the tires marketed for soft terrain are pretty versatile.
I've tried and liked Dunlop 756, Michelin S-12 and Maxxis S/I (Soft Intermediate).
