Which tire for the Loose Moose

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'am trying to decide whether to put on my new kenda millville or leave the Storm with 2 races and some practice rides on it.Which do you think would be a better choice for the terrian up there.

when i ran the millville there a couple years ago, it worked great in the sand, but spun alot on the rocks. last year i had the stock KTM tires, it slid in the sand but hooked on the rocks. this year im using a thrashed mx51, works good in the sand and grips the rocks. i don't want to destroy my new tire i just put on the rocks.

That was my first thought not wanting to destroy a new tire but was wondering if it might work better on the rocks as the knobs are a little closer together them on the storm .

I am running a brand spanking new Cheng Shin, nothing but the best for the Yami!

The rocks are the best.....

If what happened last year you should put knobbies on your head

A intermediate setup works well. We have a variety of terrain: packed sand (not loose beach sand), black dirt, and rocks (some as big as your house - REALLY!). Many locals run a trials rear and just deal with the trade offs they present; IMO you gain more than you lose with a trials tire. M12, Washougal Sticky, 755 and MT44 seem to be common front choices. Trials, S12, 755, etc are common rear choices. Don't know nuthin' about them Chinese tires...

Try one's that hold air! now get up here and manup and ride!

Mike - use the red ones - they will match your bike better...tires that is...

I wish I was going... Oh well. Have fun, bring back lots of bench racing lies to tell.

Silver,

Whatever tire you select, make sure you have 1-2 lbs of air in it. I hear this will give you the best traction on the moon rocks and will help keep from getting flats!!!

Cr250winters-- you may want 30-40 lbs in your tires!!!

Just a couple of tips for best performance for my good friends!

The competition is tough in the Vet B class. It is nice that you guys are providing such "good" advice to the competition.

Seriously, it is a lot of fun to watch your class.

Thanks guys I knew I came to the right place for BullSh!t. I've decided to go with the red, super moto tires with 30 lbs in the front and 1 lb of air in the rear.I should be stuck like glue every where.Seriously you guys suck in the advice area.

I wasn't gonna suggest anything, but I was going to let the air out of whatever tire you decided to run

Thanks Poe, you better check your air pressure before you start too!

Looking forward to another tight race! See yous there!

What, I gave you good advise!
See you there.

I wouldn't be to concerned about tires. What you really need is HP. The mountain is super easy with Dunlop 908RR in rear and 606 up front with the V-twin in the midddle.
