84 xr200 what motors will fit?

i have a 84 xr200 that needs a motor im wondering if anyone knows what other motors would fit in this bike?

My advise would be not to build a "frankenbike". It will be a money pit worth nothing.

With the lack of suspension to weight ratio I wouldn’t go putting a bigger or faster motor in it. You would have a cracked frame and blown shocks before you know it. Not to mention the amount of fab work and tweaking involved that would eventually be a waste. You would probably have to upgrade your brakes too. Just go buy a XR250 and forget the hassles.

Pretty much anything will fit it just depends how big the hammer is and how much welding & grinding you are willing to do.

If you are asking about what motors might drop in with few or no mods, your best bets would be XR185, XL185, XR200 and XL200.

84/85 XR250 is a bolt in. Nothing else will fit. the 200 and 250 for these years are oddball engines and are now hard to get parts for.
