crf 80 throttle please help

hi im not really a dirtbike guy but i need quick help on my sons 80 he has a crf80 its a 4 stroke and yesterday i cleaned the carb and the air filter changed the spark plug and kicked it on and i it reved high and the throttle had no resistance meaning it wouldn't controll the rev so im guessing its stuck and or broken all it does when i turn it on it just revs loud and if i put the choke it cuts off idk i dont know what exactly to change thanks please help

Did you take the carb apart when you cleaned it or just squirt the outside (aka not really cleaning it)? Check both ends of the cable to make sure they are properly secured to start with.

you have the slide 180* backwards in the carb

Ah yes that very well could be it! That carb has a round slide with a groove in one side and a little wedge shape cutout at the bottom on the other. Put it in backwards and the little tab in the carb body will jamp the slide in to position. Hopefully no damage was done to the slide, if so plan on replacing it.
