Time for the Summer Bummer?

Flyer says key time is 10:00 CST - don't they go on daylight savings time there? Just want to be sure I get there at the right time - are they an hour behind us here in Michigan right now or not?

Most of Indiana is on Michigan time now(includes Daylight Savings Time). Exception to the counties that fall into the Central Time zone.
So for an answer to your question. The race is in Central Time zone. They are an hour behind Michigan.

I guess it was a bit wordy.
I'll stay away from the politics. I'll leave that part up to you.

Thanks. What confused me was the CST - it should be CDT if they observe daylight savings time - CST would be the winter time zone. Indiana has gone back and forth on whether they observed it or not and I wasn't sure if they'd changed it again.

That was a hot tough race.

I agree! Dusty too. That black dust along the corn fields was like someone turning out the lights.
I finished and that was all that mattered to me in the last section. I liked the last section, but the heat had already drained me by then.

Yeah the dust was gnarly. I felt like I was just slow all day, couldn't seem to have my normal strength and the ruts were deep back on row 31. Looked to me like they used a lot of older trail and i was expecting more new trail which would have been nice. The section on the nudie camp is getting really worn out and that bridge they built was a joke, looked like a MTB bridge, it was 15 inches wide and you couldn't get a good angle to approach it. I fell off it on the last loop and that was my demise as I got tired getting it out and going again and then I rode in survival mode and crashed 3-4 more times. We all were hoping when we come out on that last loop near the place by the mud bog they would have ended it there but they didn't. I didn't see ANY choice "spectators" on the nudie camp loop either so they need to do some recruiting. I heard they had a "spectacular" view on Saturday though with some hottie on the hood of a golf cart. I missed that.

Our group had a good day in results. First A open, First B open, Second B 250 and 6th SS (2nd SS-B D 14.) They mixed the SS A and SS B together.

2 of the guys that came with me this year had their bikes stolen from the hotel there last year on Sat night so I convinced them to come and camp with me where the bike would be safe.

I'm glad I didn't ride Saturday too, that heat got to me for sme reason, usually I can handle it but not yesterday.

"and that bridge they built was a joke, looked like a MTB bridge"

I agree. I'm not a trials rider, and wouldn't be a very good one, so I went through the bottom. I did just fine on the left, but I was also on row 11.

Hey Fred, did Grant ride? He's putting in some awesome rides.

Posted by: Fred T---------------------

Nope, he went to Log Road HS and won the "Z" class Sunday, my daughter went with him and rode the morning race.

It was a great race from what I could see, being a "Pit Wench" instead of a racer really sucked.
We ran gas for around 12 riders, we had a truck load.
Where else can you gas your class competitors.
Glad you had a good ride Freddy!

Don, Thank you for pointing the way back to the start for my son-in-law. This was his first race/enduro and boiled his clutch. He did have fun and wants to go the next one.

No problem Mully, hopefully we "hooked" another one....

It was a brutal race for me. I was getting overheated and was trying to get out of the way of a faster rider in the first section after gas where we were running along the edge of that creek and I pulled off to the right and fell over with the bike upside down and I landed on my back about 10 feet down. Once I got back up to the back and got it restarted about a 1/4 mile later I dropped off the left side of the trail and down into the creek bottom. Took me about 30 minutes to get out of there and at that point I was completely done. I bailed at the open field after that section and fortunately someone there in a truck offered me water and I poured it all over myself trying to cool down. Pulled into the staging area with a pretty good case of heat exhaustion going.

I was also one of the many guys that looped around and around in the 2nd section before gas. Ended up missing the 2nd and 3rd checks. There was a lot of people talking about protesting the 2nd check - anyone know if that check got thrown out? I didn't stick around for the results because I was feeling so bad - just wanted to get home and get to sleep.

They threw out ck 4 because it was off by 24 seconds, that was an "in" check.
