When I was younger I had a dirtbike and I loved riding it, but I knew nothing about the engine or proper maintainance. I am looking to purchase a bike in the next 4 months or so. I am looking for a book or books that will help me find any problems when buying a used bike and also information explaining parts, maintenance and useful information that riders that work on their bike should know. I have been searching and I found this:
The Essential Guide to Motorcycle Maintenance by Mark Zimmerman
and some others that were rated good, but I'm not sure if I need a book that is specific to dirtbikes? I want to have knowledge before I make a purchase. when I read on this forum about top end rebuilds and other things I don't understand I realize even more that I need to educate myself first.
