This link is to Art Miller's turbo-crank, used in 2-stroke snowmobiles. I have not a clue to why or how this would work, and I would also like to know if this technology would be useful in 2-stroke motorcycles.

Its been done before. The only thing it does is lightens your wallet. Do a search? Junior Jacksons' dad tried getting a patent on that process I do believe, 20 years ago? Then more recently there was a guy trying to get a patent on veins, or some bs like that. Its not knurled, its veins I tell you, PFFFT! What ever? Man made graphs, bad dyno runs and hear say is all that backs these people up, no proof. At least the guy wants someone to tell him why it works, because he does not know. Thats the truth?

If you can explain why this seems to work or are interested in learning more about the Turbo Cranks

uh?!?!?!?
want to learn? SAE has a nice archives

i do remember a thread about it, but iīm unable to find it. maybe has been deleted...
rich rohrich stated, if i remember correctly, that he and eric gorr made some work along that lines some time ago. i think eric patented something about this...
if my memory donīt fail (highly unlikely) this kind of work has little or no gains on modern two-stroke technology.

now, my opinion: if a crank is used to pull some mixture to the cylinder, most of it will be lost on the exhaust on a high speed, modern mx engine. it could work for a low speed, but i just donīt believe that itīs a bolt on. maybe with some mods to exhaust and transfer ports.
loss of fresh mixture to exhaust is one of the main problems on high speed, two- stroke engine and this kind of system will only make it worse.
