Too Lean??

I cracked my carb tonight and found a 40 pilot and a 140 main. The bike runs good with the exception of a stumble off idle and it takes about four kicks to get it started. The only mods I have are a Pro Circuit Platinum II pipe. The reeds are stock and look like brand new. I've ordered a 42 and 45 pilot and a 142 main.
Are most of you with pipes only running stock 42,145 jetting?
