kick starter question

Is the 17mm nut that holds the kick starter boss onto the starter shaft LH or RH thread? 1996 kdx200.

From what I recall, it's a normal thread.
Mine was stripped by a previous owner. I welded a bead and re-tapped it, but it didn't hold up well (which was expected, to be strong I think threads need to be rolled on, not cut).
Though I probably could have just drilled a hole, put in a washer and a cotter pin, and that would likely have worked OK...
