Seals blown, AGAIN!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just rebuilt the front suspencion on my crf230f last fall, and i ran it a few times through the winter, but now this spring i discovered that the seals are blown again. Was it just because i bought the cheapest seals in the world or is winter riding really hard on seals? What can i do to keep seals from leaking?

Look at the price of the seals, you will get what you pay for. I really try and stay oem, or what ever MXTech says. Tape any sharp edges, and oil it up. If the tubes are scratched, try not to spin them too much. Did you try cleaning them with a swab and alcohol? Sometimes they will last a while longer. Did you change the wipers/dust seal also? You do keep the air purged out of the forks? Good luck. Vintage Bob
