07 piston in 09 crf250

Can I use a 2007 piston in a 2009 crf 250? I know they are different part numbers. The 2009 has higher compession. I guess even the 2009 cylinder uses something other than nikasil. In a pinch can you use a 2007 piston instead.
Or how about just using 2007 rings on a 2009 piston?

You can use an 07 piston in a 2009 crf250. The 07 has less compression than the 2009. So for an 07 if you want better performance buy a 2009 0em piston. Or get a better quality pistion like a weisco (higher comp.).
I think I also read the 2009 has less metal under the top. This should make it lighter and let the engine rev up faster.

Now I wonder though, are the rings interchangeable. The part numbers are different. But what could be different about them?
