Anyone used 'Vinyl Dye' to recolour plastics?

Found lots of evidence that it seems to work awesome on plastics, and because it seeps into the material, it doesn't chip :D!

That and needless to say, 23 year old Kawasaki green is AWFUL to behold.

I've ordered some anyway! It seems awesome that I can re-colour my seat and plastics with the same rattle can, might not work out perfect, but we will see!

The answer? DON'T.

Sorry it didn't work out.

Haha! Thanks! I'm now looking into the 'immersing into a bath of rather hot dye' technique to see how that pans out.

Problem is, nothing will be absolutely permanent, it won't even penetrate 1mm so the second you get a good scratch, little bits of green will start to bleed through...

try this just for kicks ...go get some peanut butter and rub it into your old plastics then let it set for overnight then come back in the morning and rub it out...results may vary but it works well on blue yamaha it plastics

I watched a video of someoneone on youtube doing that with his bumpers, had some pretty good results! Currently my bike is as black as a black thing now, going to wait till summer then attempt the hot dye dip and see how it comes out!
