Number plate installation

Have any one installed a KX number plate, but kept the standard odo meter on. Any tricks to get things closer to the clamps ?

I took the front plate/light off my 220 for HS, and will put back on if I ride any enduros. So, I'm in the middle of mounting a generic number plate right now. I decided that behind the plate was a good place for a tool pouch, so I'm making a braket that will hold the plate away from the ODO. Works great in my mind! Where do you carry your tools? What do you carry?

If you are ditching the headlight do you really need the odometer?

Quite right. I've decided to remove the odo as well. I might considder a electronic unit later on, or not...

Has anyone installed a numberplate with a WER damper? If so which number plate works best?
