I'm also interested in some Hare Scramble's around Calgary. I just started getting back into some riding around McLean Creek but I'm interested in doing some competion. Any input would be appriciated.

Hopefully someone from the area will have answers to your questions. In the mean time I suggest checking these two websites:
http://www.canmocycle.ca The Canadian Motorcycle Association
http://www.cmrcracing.com CMRC is the major off road/M-X sanctioning body in Canada.
Maybe Canadian Dave, who writes the Just KDX portion of this site can help, he's from the Calgary area I believe.

Good luck,

DAVE

Thanks Alex, actually the http://www.canmocycle.ca/index.cfm gave me exactly what I was looking for. Now I just have to find the time to make it to one of the races... I appreciate the input.

The first XC of the year in Alberta is the Pincher Creek race 'the Porcupine'. I have competed there the last three years, it is a really fun event. Our group hasn't made it to any of the other events on the XC/enduro/hare scrambles calendar up there but compared to the fairly wide open Porcupine race, the other races are the epitome of "tight".

As a side note, the Porky race was where I decided to add the Scotts Stabilizer to my bike; for long downhill trails that turn 90 degrees into the Aspens at the bottom, can you say headshake :scream:
