Ooops Anyone riding in So. Cal 8/13-8/17?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I messed up my dates from the previous post. Anyone riding around San Diego next week? I'd like to go riding with some fellow DRN'ers. Maybe Elsinore or even McCain's valley? Let me know if anyone is interested. My preference is doing some single track but I might be talked into the track at Elsinore.

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

I might be able to make a half-dayer. Maybe one morning?

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

I will probably be riding at Elsinore at least one day next week - maybe tuesday morning or wednesday morning. Let me know if you want to try to hook up.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

LT,

Where were you thinking about riding? I'd like to go to Terry's but Elsinore would be fine. If it's Elsinore we should go on Wednesday to meet up with MxDad and 454elk.

Posted by: thumbs---------------------

I'm in. Where and when? I vote for single track in Corona.

Fred2 - McCain's Valley........ Where is it and what kind of terrain?

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

Elsinore is on for Wed. morning, 8-15, I'll be there around 8:30, give or take. Look for the white 66' El Camino, 01 rm250 #214. Be happy to meet fellow DRNer's. I usually park to the right of the grandstands so when I eat crap on the front table tops, I can limp to my elk!! See you there

Carlo

Posted by: J_dem_Bones---------------------

DAMN
I need a new job were I can ride during the weekdays!!

If anyone is interested in a evening ride at Elsinore I could make it(except this thursday, dinner at grandma's)??

Usually you can find me there on Saturday. (Sunday's are even more crowded:scream
I ride both tracks, but like to see how many laps I can get in on the Vet track.

I will be there this weekend too!!

Posted by: fred2---------------------

Thumbs,

I agree about the Corona ride. What day? I would like to start at around 8 and maybe ride till about 2 or 3. Or until the sun actually touches the ground. I hear it's been hot as hell up there.

McCain's valley, I think there's another name for it, is out highway 8 by Alpine. Sounds like some good single track. I've seen some descriptions of it here on DRN.

What about LT, Scar, Ol'89r?

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

Gotta work for the State! They don't really miss you when you're gone, sad but true. Still going to Elsinore during the day but am planning a nite ride at comp park soon. Will post thread for that event.
Elk

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

I could do a morning loop on the 14th or 15th.

MXDad -- GET OUT ON THE TRAILS. NO MORE NANCY BOY'IN! If I could get back in the saddle, you can get out on the trails. Oh -- and if not -- well I can maybe get Connor to Elsinore in the am on the 20th or 21st.

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

Nancyboy'n??? OK, I admit it. I'm afraid of what O89'r does to us track ridin types. They do have the main track at Elsinore nice right now. It would be great to get out with you and Connor, just pick the day and Matt and I will be there. a454elk, fred2, J_dem_Bones, Thumbs and any other so cal DRNers - let me know when you're going out to either Perris or Elsinore, I usually try to go once or twice during the week. White Ford F150 and a yz250F #115.

Posted by: thumbs---------------------

It sounds like Elsinore track on Wed. 8/15 in the morning. I'll be there.

Just look for the slow guy on the 00' cr with no graphics. I look good from far but I'm actually far from good.

Arm pump city here I come.

Posted by: holeshot---------------------

.
What kind of jobs do you guys have that let you ride during the week?:think
The Elsinore main track is my favorite layout (not too easy, not too hard).

Maybe I could be sick or something........

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Hey thumbs - I thought you voted for single track . . . that's my vote for the 15th. Fred? Scar? 89r? Up to you guys.

MxDad -- following week for track with the child'ns.

Posted by: KTMster---------------------

Anybody ever been to Sunrise MX Park in Adelanto? Just curious since I went there last Saturday for my first time.

Although, my MOST favorite type of riding is the high-speed, single-track trails found in the dez.....some people refer to them as goat trails or no trails. Hmmm, gets my blood goin' just thinking 'bout 'em!!!!! Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh!

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I vote for the single track. But I could be talked in to Elsinore.

KTMster,
That place sounds like some fun. Can't wait to go there. Now you've got my blood a pump'n.

Let's decide on a day and a place cause I'm ready for some RIDING!!!!!

Posted by: Mx Dude---------------------

Hey KTMster, fred2,

Looks like I'll be headed to either Sunrise or Glen Helen this Saturday morning. Sunrise is always well prepped and has a fun layout, and best of all small crowds . Glen Helen is always challenging, but is also very crowded. As soon as I can get some guys to agree on where to go, I'll let you know and maybe we could hook-up

Hopefully we'll be able to meet sometime soon...

Cliff

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I can't go Sunday but I can on Wednesday. Are we on for the AM? What's the temperature like up there these days? Or can we count on a downpour again? oh please, oh please.....

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Seein' as you started this, Fred-don't-call-me-George, I won't leave you hangin' on Wednesday. Early am single track if you're interested.

Posted by: scar tissue---------------------

LT, Fred, thumbs

Like I said I'm in where ever. Just let me know where and when. How early do you want to go on Wed. I may have a meeting at 8am I'd have to bail on.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I'd like to be there by 8. But we could shoot for 9??? Do you know if Terry's interested?

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

8-12 would be perfect.

I did......at the time of my second post I thought that everyone was more in favor of the track.

So now it looks like Wednesday the 15th single track somewhere in Corona around 8 or 9am........Sweet!

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

OK, now I'm confused. Oh well, I'll still be at Elsinore on the 15th in the am, if anyone else goes look me up.

LT - the next week sounds good w/the kids, can you do Wed. the 22nd? That way all the tracks are open. Let me know what you think, an early am start would be good.

Just use my personal favorite "I got arrested in Mexico AGAIN!":scream: My boss loves that one!

Lt,Fred,Thumbs,

8/15 8-12 works good for me. LT do you want to carpool . Read: do you want me to wake you up again Actually you'd be picking me up this time.

Re: is Ol89er in. Yeah maybe we should invite him as were riding at his place. Or we could just suprise him. Get out there around 5 AM and Fire up the Bikes. He'd love that!

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Scar -- date and time fine. don't know about carpool -- got to go straight to work.

MXDad -- sounds good the following Wednesday.

You're gonna smell good:scream: Please can I share anan office with you. That's fine on the carpool thing I'll meet you out there. As I 've fixed my carrier. Any interest in Sun 4-5 PM. also

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

MXDad, I'm still going to Elsinore on Wed. morning, be more than happy to meet up with you there so we can tear up some dirt. I'll be parked to the right of the grandstands with the white 66 El Camino, 01 RM #214. Be there around 8:30 or so.

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

Well, when you guys finally get around to making a decision, let me know.
I will try to be here....Oh, wait..I already am here.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I'll be at Terry's Wednesday morning around 9? 8 would be better but I don't want to wait around an HOUR like I did last time.

I'm also thinking about hitting Elsinore Saturday morning for a few hours. Anyone interested? Of course I don't have SA yet. (spousal approval)

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Looks we already did, Oldguy. Seems we've got two things to choose from. Track with dad and elk; singletrack with fred scar thumbs lt. A veritable smorgasbord of dirtbiking pleasure. Maybe if the Elsinore folks get a little later, or even pm start, you -- and others -- can do both. Enduro loop am; mx pm.

Well, well, well. Fred-don't-call-me-George has opened up the flood gates already. Only question is -- to what? Have we just heard a complaint or a challenge? I'm sure we all want to play. Just got to know which game.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

Bring it on slick!!!

Whatever the game comes to I'll leave my riding ability out of it.

I will be at Elsinore on Saturday morning!!!! Thats the only time I can ride this weekend.

Sorry Fred2, I don't have a e-mail at work, just internet access.

Can anyone else make it to Elsinore on this Saturday(11th)??

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

a454elk-
Sounds good. I'll look for you. Just make sure you get under one of those shade canopys!

LT - if it's anything like yesterday, my bike parts were melting by noon, so I don't think I'll be trying an afternoon start! :scream:

Bring on the bikinis and the lightninig Ol89er do you still have that custom bottle of hooch? This should make for quite a party:scream:

Nobody was up for waking the old man up @ 5:00AM

Ol89er and LT, Durning the drn mudfest we did a few sections right away that had tight trees on a ridgline ( remember I threw my bike off the cliff there) oh wait That doesn't really describe just one area does it

also we did a section that looked like Gilligans Island where we had to walk the bikes through a steam becauce the over hanging braches were only about 4 feet high.

Those were great but we havent done them again since, If I could put in a request there it is. As I don't know how to get to those sections which is why I 'm asking the guides. Along, of course, with Mr. toads s always mandatory. I don't know if its all possible, I just thought I'd through out some ideas.

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Scar -- agreed. Those are clearly in order. As is FredDCMG's fashion show and worm eating contest.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

Just for this occassion I have a Saran Wrap jock with feathers and Mardi Gras beads. I'll bring my own bottle of Mad Dog. I'm not your average hussy so make sure to bring the dollar bills. Lap dances run 20 and handle bar rides are 100!

Sounds like a tall order of a ride is being served up!! Are those trails wide enough for training wheels?

That's it........I'm out.........unless FDCMG promises not to ride infront of me.

Don't trust yourself, eh Thumbs? :D

Posted by: KTMster---------------------

Thom & I will be at Sunrise Motorsports Park on Saturday, 8/11, from about 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

V17x & W21

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

I think we type more than we ride, that's scary. MXDad, I'll have my new fangled EZ-up canopy there. You're more than welcome to grab some cover under there if there's room with the Camino and all! We'll pit under the canopy so come on down. I'll have my kid run and get us water and grapes! If my bike melts then I'll knock my kid off his and ride on.

Ok, ok, here's the deal.

Sunday 08-12-01, 8:30 AM @ the fire station, Corona trail ride, single track.

Wednesday 08-15-01, 8:00 AM, @ the Elsinore track, MX.

Geeze, do I have to do everything for you guys.

MXDad, Elk. Come out Sunday, we won't hurt ya, we promise.

Posted by: J_dem_Bones---------------------

Also,
Saturday 08-11-01 @ 9 am , Lake Elsinore if anyone is interested.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

OK, got it, Tues at Sunrise, Wed at Glen Helen and Thurs through Sun at CompPark! (Kidding) Actually Sunday is a no go for me, the other half has plans and it doesn't involve dirt and two wheels but it does involve long pants and a button up shirt, AHHHHHHH. A single track ride out in Phelon soon would be nice though. Let me know if anyone is interested, it's a great day of riding with goat trails, sand and hill climbs.

Wed. I'm in. Sun. AM is a big maybe. I'll radio thumbs & let him know. I'm supposed to be in SD both Sat and Sun AM If we get everything done Sat. then I'm in. If I can't make it, I know it won't be the same without me, But you guys really must carry on and suffer through it.

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

Can't make Sunday trails, looks like we're taking the whole family to the track on Sunday am. Ol 89r - are you going to be at Elsinore Wed the 15th? Hope to see you there. too. I know you won't want to miss LT's return there on the 22nd also.

Posted by: Bill Purcell---------------------

Wow, off the computer for a few days and look what I miss!

Looking forward to meeting up with everybody at Elsinore. Can't wait for LT's comeback.
Bill

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

MXDad.

I am going to try to make it on Wed. Would like to get there early and get a few laps in before it gets too hot. Who all is planning on being at Elsinore? I definitely want to be there for LT's comeback. That could be worth the price of admission.

Scar. We will be doing those trails and also a few that you guys haven't seen yet>:scream: You gotta make it Scar, it won't be the same without lifting that heavy gd*%%3da)*^nmm!@^%$ Honda back on the trail. Oh, that's right, you got a lighter bike now.

Holeshot. Check your PM's.

Elk. Wish you could make it Sunday. It might be fun to have a Chippie chasing us around. Usually it's the Sheriff. You have a bubble gum machine on that Suzuki don't you? Otherwise it may not be the same.

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Ol89'r -- you done helpin'? Is there a single track ride still alive? Have you figured out the 15th / 22nd thing yet? I'm certain, now, that we need to test you in our device.

Dad -- see you on the 22d.

Anyone else: Is anyone going Sunday am besides Ol89r?

Posted by: Bill Purcell---------------------

I'll be at Elsinore on Wed. the 15th.

So, what's the deal with the trail rides? Do you need a spark arrester, green sticker, ect.? Since I've only been on the tracks for the past year and a half (can't get enough of them), I'd have to find my registration and get a spark arrester.

Let me know, I'd like to give one of the seemingly legendary Ol'89r trail rides/walk/push/pull a try.

Bill

Posted by: thumbs---------------------

Ol'89r, LT, Holeshot, anyone- are we still on for Sunday 8am at the fire station?

Please let me know who is still in. I am.

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

Bill, Ol89r, you have to ride Elsinore Wed the 22nd to see the return of Longtime. I (and ELK) will be there on the 15th early am as well. Maybe if we can save a few others from the darkside, we can get them out on the 15th as well. Surely the Sunday trail ride will satisfy the single track need.

Ol89r- it's been pretty nice early at Elsinore. They seem to be letting people start riding well before 9. Let me know whcih days you'll be there and what time and we can snag one of the big shade canopys. Bill and I really need you to show us how to properly turn a motorcycle!!

LT - Matt's looking forward to riding with Connor again. The kid's tracks are in good shape, they'll have a blast.

We definitely need ride reports from Sunday if you guys get out. Have fun!

Posted by: holeshot---------------------

I'm in for the Sunday trail ride. I want to make sure Ol89'r doesn't get eaten by mountain lions.

Bill:

Spark arrestors aren't required because we're not supposed to be riding there anyway.

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

LT, et all. Sunday ride still on, 8:30 at the fire station.

Bill. We highly recommend spark arresters. Since some of the land we ride is in the National Forest. We wouldn't want to burn it down. Green and red stickers are optional.

MXDad. Don't know about showing anyone how to turn a motorcycle. Mine usually turns itself. I just hang on and hope it's heading in the right direction.:scream:

Ok, it's 7:15, you guys better get loaded up.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

Who's still on for this Wednesday on the single track?

MXDad,
I just went to Elsinore this weekend and they're letting people in at 8 for summer hours.

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

Fred, D-C-M-G.

We did a single track ride yesderday. Had a great ride. The only downside was, LongTime bailed on us, so, there was a whole section dedicated just to him that we did not do. Boy, he better have a good excuse.

Maybe someone will post a ride report.

It looks like Wedensday, a few of us are going to Elsinore for a early morning ride on the track.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

Finally I have an excuse for being in the back, gotta chase people cause I do it all day anyway, wouldn't want to lose my touch. Thanks for the help in advance. See, you guys ARE alot of help, always concerend for others well beings! No bubblegum machine on the Zuki, but if you like, I can carry a laser light with me and lock on you guys for fun. See you at 8 on Wed.

Elk

Posted by: fred2---------------------

Ol'89r,

Dang! I really had my heart set on the single track. Unless I can talk someone into going some other day this week? If not I might meet up with you guys on Wednesday at Elsinore. Do you guys do the big track or the Vet's?

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

Quote:

Fred. I don't know about the other guys, I'm still trying to figure out the Pee-Wee track.

Maybe, we can put a late afternoon ride in later on in the week. Let me see how the work week goes.

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

Fred -- I guess Ol89r never did figure out this thread, eh? That we were going to do single track this Wednesday, and mx the next. That MXDad, though, was doing track on both, for anyone that wanted that option.

Ol89r -- who said I could go on Sunday? That was the point of going on Wednesday. Far as I knew, only you and Scar talked about Sunday -- til the last moment.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

I ride on any track that I don't get passed on, once I get passed by the water truck, that's my clue to go home! During the week it seems like there's not alot of people on any of the tracks. I saw the last time that they were either changing the vet track or combining it with the 80 track, not sure, it was a month ago. The big track has been really nice, alot of timing jumps, yet also forgiving for those of us who have jobs and a house!

Geeze, some guys sure get moody when they don't get to go riding.

If you guys want to do some single track Wedensday, let me know. You are welcome to park here.

Ol'you-know-who.

Posted by: LongTime---------------------

I'm not moody. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not! . . . . . I just didn't want any confusion (spelled "s*&%") that I bailed on the ride. (I was always a Wed. single track guy). As to Wednesday, poor ol' Fred-don't-call-me-George is just gonna' have to go MX'in, it looks like.

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I NEVER GET MY WAY!!!! WaAAAAaaa!!! Ok I'll go to the dang track with you guys on Wednesday. Just as long as you don't make me go to work.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

I could sit and watch you guys all day here! I'm having a little problem with my eye, I can't see going to work Wed. If there's an optomotrist in the house, could he meet me at Elsinore Wed. morning.

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

Dr. Bill, calling Dr. Bill. Are you there? Can you write a excuse/perscription for elk for Wednesday?

Posted by: Bill Purcell---------------------

Wow, looks like the Wednesday MX Ride is really shaping up! Can't wait to meet up with everybody.

I usually ride mostly on the main track, but the vet track is in good shape now, so it's a lot of fun too. A lot of times MXDad and I head over there when the wind picks up and we're both too chicken (I guess I shouldn't speak for Dad--I get too chicken) to do some of the jumps.

And for you singletrack guys, parts of the vet track are tight and twisty--no not single track, but like fred2 said, it sure beats being at work.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

I'm about ready to pack up and go right now. With this buildup we've been creating, it better not suck! My luck, I'll foul a plug right off the bat. I'll have the blue ez-up canopy setup and ready for some shade. If there's room with the elk and the 01 rm underneath, you all can grab a spot! haha We can jump until it blows us off to the vet track, then I can bring up the rear cause I can't turn for poop.

Posted by: Bill Purcell---------------------

Quote:
I can't turn for poop

Sounds like you and I will be spending a lot of time riding together

Posted by: holeshot---------------------

Good luck to anyone trying to keep up with Ol' on the Elsinore vet track. Tight, slippery corners are one of his specialties. Now if I could only lure him to Starwest......

I still can't quite understand this thread - most posting here are going to Elsinore on Wed and the following Wed (LT's return). :think

I can only fake sick for one day (my employee review is next week).......

Posted by: Tony Williams---------------------

Gee, guys, I can't tell if it's my eyes are going bad, or this scratchy throat. Can dirt bike riding on Wednesdays cure these ills?

Posted by: fred2---------------------

The vet's track is a lot better than it was. Track conditions are either dusty or slick as snot after they water it. So you're right that 89r will be digging it. I'm convinced after he was power sliding on the wet pavement during the Downpour Fest.

"Slick pavement is pretty predictable" -Ol'89r
Yeah, predictable that my a** would meet the pavement.

Posted by: Ol'89r---------------------

Not a chance Holeshot. That track scares the bejesus out of me. Plus, I don't like all of those eight year olds jumping over the top of me.:scream:

Talked to LT yesterday, he said his company was very busy at this time and he wasn't sure he could make it on the 22nd. Maybe, we could get a commitment from him? How about it LT, are you in?

I think everyone else is planning on going on the 15th. If LT commits to the 22nd, I'll be there too. Wouldn't wanna miss that.

Ol'89r

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

Sounds to me like LT should just show up tomorrow - seems like everyone can make that! This is the first I've heard of any waffling on his part for the 22nd??? Come on LT, I've got kids counting the days - dont' let me down now.

For those who haven't been to Elsinore lately and may be reluctant, the conditions have been about as good as they ever have. The track designs are good and they're doing a much better job with the water. Come on all you single trackers - try it, you'll like it!

The only time I plan on keeping up with Ol'89r will be on the way to lunch. For anybody thinking they're going to be the slow ones, don't worry, I'll be right behind you!

See you all tomorrow, this should be great!

Posted by: fred2---------------------

MXDad,
Stop bragging about bringing up the rear. I'm not even quick enough to get out of my own way.

I went to Elsinore last weekend with J_Dem_Bones, SIRHK100 and Homey. Those guys were talking about how they weren't that great and they were pretty good.

Can't wait to meet everyone. Also the track opens up at 8am during the summer. C-ya there!!!

Posted by: thumbs---------------------

How long is everyone staying (I have the entire day to play) and what do you guys usually do for lunch....bring or buy? Lunch at a restaurant after the carnage perhaps? anyone, anyone...........

Posted by: scar tissue---------------------

same ques. as thumbs. How long is everyone hanging out. Sadly I have been asked by one of the owners to attend a meeting at 8:00- 9:00

I was going to blow off the track as I wouldn't get there until 10:00 or so. but if people are still going to be haging out I might still make the trip.

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

Since I'm the only one experienced to run breaks, I'll bring up the rear and ward off the little 80 B**tards. I can stay beyond lunch but the heat really kicks up. I'll be packing some munchies for the stay. I found out the hard way about how slippery the track can be right after they water, not a pretty sight (broken rib!). They have gotten alot better about the watering now, not bad at all and the track is really well maintained. I'm hoping I don't toss the new rm tomorrow, if I do, the roost rule applies so have at it until I get upright! Cya

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

I'll be there until 12 or 1 also. You'll still have plenty of time!

I'm taking a vacation day so I'll be there until I melt. I don't get out during the week like this too often so I want to get my money's worth. I'm also bringing a little water, munchies and my ez-up. Hopefully it won't be too windy cause it's a chore to keep that thing anchored.

I"m shootin to be to the right of the grandstands, next to the palm tree. Blue EZ-up and white camino, lots of water, maybe a wading pool too!!

The 15th is definitely out -- we just called a Special Meeting of our Board of Directors at noon. Missing that would be 'purt near career suicide.

BUT -- I will commit to the 22d. I'll bring the young'un, too, MXDad, so they can ride the kids track together. Hey, think they'd let me ride there, too? :think Nah -- I'd just be in everybody's way. I think I'm gonna set a world record for slow, you guys. :silly:

Posted by: holeshot---------------------

Looks like I'll miss out on the ride tomorrow.:silly: I ran around tonight looking for a new clutch for my 426 (it's starting to slip), but couldn't find all the parts to upgrade from the '00 to '01 clutch. It would probably hold up for at least one more ride, but I shouldn't be playing hookey at this time anyway.

I'll be up for a Elsinore ride sometime in the last week of August or first week of Sept. I'll be vacationing then, so I'll probably bring my 9 year old, depending on the day.

I'll be looking forward to the ride report.

Sorry guys. Gonna have to pass today. Have some business dealings that have to be taken care of today. One of the downsides to owning your own business, the buck stops here.

Almost glad, heard it is supposed to be 105 degrees in Corona today. That means it will be 110 degrees in Elsinore.

Will definitely set aside next Wednesday the 22nd for LT's return.

Yes, it was hot at Elsinore. I'd ride 10 minutes, and drink a quart of water over the next 20 minutes.

My 12 year old seemed to like it, though.

Posted by: MXDad---------------------

Of course Tony neglected to mention that he arrived about NOON!! It was hot, but the track conditions and temperature were pretty dang good at 8:00 when the rest of us got started. I got there at 8 and Elk and his son already had been moto'n for about a half hour! Thumbs, Fred & Bill Purcell showed up shortly after.

Had a great ride (ok, so it was only 2-3 laps at a time for me ) and met some good new riding budds. Everybody kept it on two wheels and rode the Main and the Vet tracks. Nate Ramsey was there showing us how a 250f is supposed to ridden. A few of us have some new dents in our cp's from when he finallly got by us. Repeat performance next Wednseday am for all who are interested.

PS - anyone know how to add a/c to a 66 El Camino That car is sweet!

Posted by: fred2---------------------

I had a great time at the track and meeting more DRN'ers. Can't wait to go riding with you guys again. Maybe sometime I'll find some backbone and keep up with you guys on the big track. Till then I'll just putt on the Vet's track.

I'm looking forward to a ride with you guys at 138, Ocotillo or the local unspoken SD places you guys mentioned.

a454elk,
How'd you do on the ride home? The air was so hot coming in the truck that my eyes were drying out. That was worse than the track I think. Maybe if I had a 454 in my Nissan it would have enough power to run the A/C at highway speeds?????

Posted by: a454elk---------------------

Where do I start, Africa hot sounds like good, need we say more. Ramsey is lucky I was hot cause I was gettin ready to pass him! I'd have to say that arriving at 7:30 was the ticket though, even the elk was happy then, but when I got home, I didn't hear a word from her all night long. I think she was pissed! If I add air to it, I lose some ponies with the pully so we will all agree that priorities are in order. We'll work on the Phelon ride soon and definately Ocatillo in the fall. Thanks to all and to all a cool day. Good meeting you guys.

While I was loading up around 3:30pm, I started up the Suburban to get the A/C's going. The 454 started overheating before we finished loading !

Drove out real easy until the engine temp came down.

I told you it pays to not have air conditioning! By the time I got home, my 2 bikes had melted into the rear of the elk so I poured them out and went inside.

It was definitely a hot one out there, but it was well worth it. It was great meeting up with everybody. Look for riding with everybody again (on the 22??).
Bill
