thats "penguin" all lower case, I have a 2001 with some sensible mods, unrestricted airbox and muffler, Stoker idler gear, oversize headpipe,aluminum handlebars, moose handguards, aluminum skidplate, frame guards, Kevlar clutch and HD springs, hotstart valve, breather kit and tee-vents. I also have several air and oil filters, brake pads,shop manual and some odds and ends I am forgetting. I am in a financial bind and need to sell this exceptionaly well maintained mount. $3500, and that includes delivery by me, personally, to your door.

texas is just a bit far for me, question for you ? I took a test drive @ my favorit dealership on a 2000 klx© do all klx300 sound like diesels? what a rattle! I could only get the bike in to 2cd gear before I ran out of room© the bike seemed under powered compared to the kdx220? with that cv carb once you get into third or fourth does that bike come alive ?

You might be mistaking lack of instant throttle response for a lack of power. If the bike had the butt plug on the muffler, it was underpowered. the bike is seriously restricted stock. It perks up quite a bit when you remove the airbox lid and remove the restrictor on the muffler. My bike is already unrestricted and will not give up anything to a KDX. Also a change to an oversized header and pumper carb gives the throttle response you want. The motor will rev to 11,500 rpm so in the upper gears it will move pretty quickly. The KLX does rattle a bit , it is the nature of the beast. If you have the cash, I will bring it to you, since I am currently unemployed, I have the time. It is cheaper for me to do that than to try and ship it.

so that baby really comes alive ? this one totally stock© ran like a under powered pig! the boy would'nt tolerate being beat my his brother at all least it better be a close race! we do a lot of gravel pit wall climbing and I'm afraid that it would'nt keep up with the kdx's? there both pretty hot bikes© I don't know what you do for work ? put I never worked so much OT, in michigan ann arbor /detroit area© come to mi and work great trails are only about three hours away:think

lived in N Dakota for 4 years, don't like snow. Trails about an hour from the house down here. good luck with the negotiations
