Anyone out there ride at PIR and soon Woodland.

Posted by: firecracker22---------------------

I plan soon on going to the Woodland winter series, but probably not PIR. I think they start up fairly soon. Some other friends of mine are going too, but I won't be down there until my knee heals. Another 2 months, maybe.

What class will you ride in firecracker 22. Haveyou ever raced at woodland.
This is my first year racing and I did the whole PIR series and went to mountain view a couple of times.
Got second place for the season and got a high point Trophy in 250 beginner. What is Woodland like?

Posted by: firecracker22---------------------

I haven’t been to any of those places yet. I spent all summer getting used to my new bike and going to the hare scrambles and enduros, which I do more of. But I want to do a few mx races too. So while I haven’t been there, everyone I’ve talked to likes Woodland. Supposed to be pretty cool.

I race women’s class, and I might go be a speedbump in the open beginner or 250 beginner too, just to get some more racing time in. I hate MX because you race for 10 minutes, and stand around for 5 hours. I refuse to race my age group class and get run over by a bunch of testosterone-laden under 25-year-olds.

I'd like to race Woodland or Mountain View, but not PIR...
I've only 'practiced' on moto tracks, have no clue how I'd do in a real race!
But I don't want to race by myself, so I haven't gone..too much of a scaredy cat

Hopefully Ill see you there some time. What number are you? go to the sunday MX
and not the saturdar races. The saturday races have a shorter course and you have
to race with fourwheelers. Im number 71 on a CR 250 and will be racing 250 junior.
the first race is on october 13.

Actually, Saturday is normally MX and sunday is scrambles-highs speed not many jumps. The mx track is fun and safe, but no big jumps.
I live near woodland and ride there occaisonally. There is ash in the soil which makes it good to ride in the winter but makes washing your bike a chore.
I rode PIR a couple of times this year 'til I broke my wrist when I overjumped the single after the finish line double in practice. I love PIR, it is just like my practice track. Mt View rocks, favorite track in the NW
Also, woodland is going to have an indoor, practice only track for the winter and Clark County will be running too.
I ride 25 + expert on a yz250 when I get around to racing.

I have overjumped that too. on My XR 250 a year ago. That was extremly painful.
I was thinking it was the tabletop after it and I was trying to stay ahead of someone.
Mtn. view is my favofite track also. its a cross between PIR and washougal, hills and
big jumps but as tecnical as PIR.

Clark County sucks! I raced there once last year, before I even lived here yet, on a friend's borrowed BBR 220. I did NOT have a good time. I crashed about 4 times in practice, twice in my first moto, and I think I managed to complete 5 laps in the second moto without a problem. But the second crash of the first moto happened on the finish line double . . . I don't know WHAT I was thinking but I was going to go for it, chickened out at the last minute (not a good thing to do on a high-compression four-stroke) and cased it bigger than life. And XR 200 engines, regardless of whether or not they are in a cool aluminum frame, do NOT like to start. So I kicked and kicked and kicked and finally PUSHED the stupid thing off the track! In front of everybody. I didn't flood it, either, because nobody else could start it either.

Anyway so I won't be attending any arenacross events. I don't like them.

But I will be at Woodland and also at Oakwood for some winter racing!

Posted by: Tracktor2---------------------

TTT, thats funny. That is basically what I did. I was trying to get through traffic so I could get a couple of fast laps during practice and just hit that a little to hard. Didn't wreck, just had the bike layed over to the left to set up for the corner and OOPS!
Firecracker, That sounds like it may have been the bike more than the track! Clark County is the tamest AX track I have ever ridden on, ever go to salem? Now that's technical. CC changes regularly, so one week it would suck and the next week it would be fun. However, I like the more technical, jump infested tracks , so don't listen to close to me!

I am not an arenacross person. I am a woods rider first so all those jumps and crap aren’t my forte. The bike had seen some hard miles, but the truth of the matter is that XR 200 motors, when pumped up, are snotty to start, hot or cold. I had a stock one that wouldn’t start half the time. We played with carburetion and everything. It’s just the nature of the engine.

But I suck at arenacross. Not that I’m highly skilled anywhere else, but I feel more comfortable on out door tracks, or even better natural terrain tracks, or better yet, tight woods trails.

FC you may like Woodland the jumps are good for beginners and OTs (Like SIR) but the track is nice NO ROCKS holds up in the rain the dirt is like Dairyland when it is damp.
PS look for #19 or #226 on 250fs with BBR graphics parts will be at opener

Posted by: ttt---------------------

Where is dairyland? I havent heard of that track before.
Are there any other winter tracks besides woodland and
Clark County.
