OK - I'm going through Fantasy MX/SX withdrawl... so I decided we should have a little competition "for fun" on this weekend's US Open at the MGM Grand in Vegas. $100,000 is on the line for these guys! Pride and bragging rights are on the line for us!

Here are the rules:

- All picks must be posted and final by midnight on Friday, October 12th.

- Choose one person as the winner (worth 10 points)

- Choose the top three riders (each correct rider worth 7 points)

- BONUS: Predict what place Mike Brown will finish (if correct - worth 10 points)

GOOD LUCK - and remember this is just for fun!

(List of probable riders: Carmichael, Mc Grath, Windham, La Rocco, Ferry, Pastrana, Lusk, Wey, Brown, Voss, Sellards, Huffman, I. Johnson, Mc Cormick, R. Clark, Stephenson, Lange, Demuth, Terlecki, Reif, Byrne - broken wrist)

JMD - Who do you want as a winner and who as your top 3 finishers and what place for Brown to finish in (the bonus)?

Nikki,

In theory (these are not my picks), could I choose the following:

1st place rider pick: RC

1st 3 places: MC, Rocket, Windham

Brown: 10th

You didn't mention that 1st place pick had to be in the top three picks.

I thought it was obvious, since I put them in order. MC first, RC second, etc. Brown's going to be fourth. Sheesh!

TWIN SPAR - YES you can. I was thinking the same thing... but it wouldn't make too much sense not to have "podium" confidence in your winner - but yes, you may pick a winner who is not in your top 3.

It could be used as a way to hedge against your 1st place pick not making it in.

Aahhh... yes. It would help protect me from losing twice on a K-Dub DNF (-10 from him not winning and -7 from no top 3) Guess it does make sense... don't gimme too many "tips" I might use them to turn my 2nd place finish into a 1st next fantasy season!

I'm always looking for possibilities.

Don't worry about the next MX Fantasy League. I probably won't play. I have come to the conclusion that if I win, my DirtWeek plans always blow up. Two years in a row. I don't want to test the "third times a charm" routine. I would rather have a week of riding with friends than the title.

But that doesn't preclude you from the SX since you haven't won it yet . Maybe that is what you need to attend. BTW Pat said he is dragging you to the next DW regardles of what you say

Just a little note - if you don't specifically list your pick for the winner - I will assume that the first name listed is your first pick. :D

Brown is for real, definately on the podium.

BTW: I know it was just just practice....... but the lap times were:

RC (43.2 sec), Brownie (43.3 sec), and MC (43.5 sec)

Hey what's up with the GMT date and time? I'm not cheating, its 5:20pm Friday!
