I updated my KDX web page today with some shots of the terrain in which I typically ride.

Haven't got skid plate shots but watch for them in the next day or so...

Those are some cool pictures. I took the liberty of expolring some of the your other pages. I'm a bit envious of you for having your own private riding areas.

The ranch life looks very satisfying too. My Dad grew up on ranches in northern New Mexico. Me, I'm stuck here in the city. But, I do have a fairly easy life.

Where did Dad grow up? I'm near Clayton. And where do you ride in Albuq? I get down to Belen once or twice a year- ever ride near there?

I don't usually ride near ABQ. Don't actually ride much at all, but I'm about to see one of those life changing events so I expect I'll have more time on my hands, like it or not. When I do ride in the ABQ area it's out at Southern Blvd, in Rio Rancho. Also, it's still legal to ride out at Otero Canyon and Cedro Peak, but I haven't been out there in years. Of course there's still the Big Dig, but it never was all that good a place. Usually I go to the Jemez or Southern Colorado.

I rode in Belen when I got my first bike in about 1972. It was a '69 AT-1. My Dad had a buddy with a farm in Belen. We'd go out there and shoot guns, ride my AT-1, cuss, spit and fart. Damn that was fun.

My Dad was born in Valmora and grew up around Shoemaker, Watrous and Wagon Mound.

Oh, I almost forgot. Here's a picture of me in 1959. This is as close as I ever came to being a real cowboy.

I worked in the Jemez for 2 summers. Should be some fun riding there. Did get a tour from a friend in Los Alamos once but haven't been back since. Angel Fire/Red River have some fun stuff. I usually head to the Cimarron River north of Amarillo or to Pueblo CO for "real" riding, but I think I'll end up developing some trail loops on the creek and just stick around here for the most part. I'm really busy in the summer with cattle, as you might guess.

Cool picture- I'm familiar with the area you mention.

No, no fish. There used to be great bass fishing in some of the other creeks on our south ranch, but people starting implementing "flood control" projects and as a result the cattails don't get washed away periodically and as a result of that, the ponds all dried up. Good fishing at nearby Clayton Lake, though. State record walleye from there.

C'mon out!

Any of you guys ever ride at Tres Ritos? I grew up in Clovis and we'd go up there two or three times a year. I haven't been back in probably seven years or so, but it was always a great time.

Thats a great looking place to ride. Hey Raider, a group of my friends and me used to ride Tres Ritos every year during the Labor day weekend. It is still an awsome place to ride. Beautiful and challenging. I have not been back in 2 years. Its 8 hours from my home. Cloudcroft is only 4 1/2 hours away so thats mostly where we ride.
