Hey,
Is that one of the years with the dual carbs and RFVC engine?? Just curious.
Other than a big bore kit for the bike, you can do the usual mods. Open up the airbox, aftermarket high airflow airfilter, open up the exhaust pipe or put on a new aftermarket one, and rejet the carb accordingly. These mods will greatly increase the throttle response, with a slight loss of bottom end with increased mid-top end. Thumper Racing and Xr's Only to name a few should be able to hook you up with a big bore kit, maybe even hotter cams and valve tweaks. My old 87 XR200 responded well to the airbox/exhaust/jetting mods, but going 1 tooth bigger on the rear sprocket helped keep the power flowing through all the gears. Good luck.

The '83 XR200 engine is a two-valve.
Powroll has a ton of great parts for the Xr200 and loads of experience. A full listing is available on their website at http://www.powroll.com/honda_xr_200.htm
